It’s been a long and exciting English Premier League season to date, and we are finally in the home stretch as the 38th and final round of the season will be held this Monday at 12am! Some teams will need to play rescheduled matches over the next few days in the lead up to every team in action for their final game at midnight on Sunday. We take a look at the key games of the weekend and give our EPL betting tips below.
EPL Week 38 Betting Tips
Southampton vs Manchester City (Monday 12am AEST)
The game of the round sees Southampton hosting Manchester City in what could end up being a must win for their hopes of avoiding relegation. Southampton currently sit even with Swansea on points but have a slight goal difference advantage, leaving them just out of the relegation zone in 17th place. However, the two teams face off on Wednesday morning in a super important clash for both of their chances.
If Southampton beat Swansea on Thursday morning, then they will likely just need to avoid embarrassment against Manchester City on the weekend, however, if they lose or if the Swansea game ends in a draw, the clash against Man City becomes a must win.
Manchester City also have two games to play before the end of their season, and currently sit on 94 points. They will be keen to win both against Brighton and Southampton to become the first team in EPL history to achieve 100 points in a season. Tough match to call as Southampton have so much on the line but it’s hard to look past Manchester City’s form this season. They will be keen to make history in what has been a relatively disappointing season after failing to capitalise in the Champions League and FA Cup.

Newcastle United vs Chelsea (Monday 12am AEST)
Another big matchup in the final week of play sees Chelsea trying to jump into the top four to qualify for next season’s Champions League. The Blues currently sit in fifth place, two points behind Tottenham, but the two teams have both still have two games to play.
It should be an interesting matchup against Newcastle, who haven’t beaten Chelsea in their last five attempts, at home or away. A lot will depend on Chelsea’s game against Huddersfield Town on Thursday morning, but given the form they have been in recently, winning their last four games, we think they should get past the Terriers on Thursday.
They’ll need Tottenham to drop points in one or both of their last two games, but as Tottenham have lost their last three games in a row, there’s a possibility of that happening. We like Chelsea to earn the win here as they look to carry their strong momentum into the FA Cup Final next weekend.

Swansea vs Stoke City (Monday 12am AEST)
While technically Stoke can still avoid relegation with a massive win in their last game, they likely would have conceded to the fact that they’ll be heading down to the championship next season. Swansea will be desperate for a win here as they try to avoid relegation and move ahead of Southampton.
They’ll be at home for this clash, where they won their last matchup against Stoke in a 2-0 score-line. Stoke did, however, defeat Swansea earlier in the season at home by 2 goals to 1. Stoke haven’t won a game in their last ten tries and while they will be keen to end their season on a high, Swansea have so much to play for.
Cant see Swansea dropping this one at home, I like them to win at odds of $1.72.
