Doomben Race 2
Cellarmaid is a warm favourite in Doomben Race 2, and looks hard to beat.
Comes here fifth up and has improved significantly getting up in trip throughout this prep. Stormed home last start for a flashing light second in Group 3 fillies company, behind Vanna Girl who has been extremely impressive in her own right this prep.
That form looks good for this and gives us the confidence to make it our best bet of the meeting. Every bit of extra value is always warmly welcome, and Palmerbet's odds will allow us to get bigger odds than the market has on offer.
Doomben Race 4
Scathing is the current favourite in Race 4 and will get back from an awkward draw in barrier 9. For that reason alone, I’m going to make him our best value play on the card.
He’s going well this prep, having won two-straight to kick off his campaign – then ran well twice in black-type company when unsuited by race tempo and position in run on both occasions.
Four weeks off with a trial win on the soft in the interim should have him ticking along nicely to attack this assignment.
We’d say ‘cross your fingers’ for him to find clear passage from back in the field.
