Yesterday the Yankees took care of business with Hiroki Kuroda getting the job done. He has one of the best records in baseball this season with a 2.65 ERA. Tonight the Yankees send in the former All Star CC Sabathia. We are not seeing the CC of old this season, although he did notch up a win against Boston at the end of May. He is 9-10 with a 4.19 ERA against Boston over is career. CC apparently took some time off over the All-Star break relaxing in the Caribbean. He said " I'm feeling really good"… we will see tonight.
Ryan Dempster has got the call up tonight for the Red Sox. Originally John Lester was named but he will be held back until further notice. Dempster is a real work horse. He is pitching better than his record would indicate this season. With a bit more offense from the Red Sox tonight Dempster will try and get his 6th win of the season.
This is the closing game of a three game series vs the Yankees. It’s one a piece at Fenway Park. The total has come out at 9.0 which would indicate that both pitchers are going to get hit tonight. With the fanatics of Fenway, the Boston Red Sox will seal a win here and move to 60 wins for the season. Boston sits atop the AL East.
