Market: Washington Nationals ($1.83) Vs Philadelphia Phillies ($2.02) at Sportsbet
As we approach the All-Star break, the Washington Nationals will try to continue their new found confidance and form. The Nationals, on a 4-game win streak, are trying to chase down divisional rivals Atlanta Braves. So its imperative they have a winning series in Philly.
Philadelphia, also in the Eastern division, have almost got their backs up against the wall and will need their very best efforts against the very talented Nationals.
Both starting pitchers will be trying to throw their way out of a form slump. Interesting side story will be former National John Lannan pitching against his former team. So a revenge factor will be there for both teams.
Dan Haren of the Nationals has got the call up. Coming off right shoulder inflammation, hopefully a solid rest has done him the world of good.
So with both teams starting out of form pitchers, it should really come down to the big hitters. Since Washington Nationals manager Davey Johnson mixed the batting line up around, Washington have been putting runs on the board.
Verdict: We're going with the talented and in form Washington Nationals. We believe they will win 3 or 4 games in this series and should take out this opener.
