Game: 2013 AFL Finals – Sydney Swans Vs. Carlton Blues (ANZ Stadium)
When: Saturday, September 14th at 7.45pm AEST
Last week the 2013 AFL finals were all about the underdogs. Then the Port Adelaide Power gave it their best to beat the Geelong Cats on Friday night, but weren’t able to get over the line. Order was restored on Friday as the better team won for the first time since the Hawks beat the Swans in week one.
So, will that trend continue with the Swans and the Blues? Well, before you bet, check out our preview of the game and maybe even sneak a few dollars on some of our value exotic bets.

The Swans are out of form. No doubt. They have lost three games in a row. It’s a damning stat until you realise these losses were against the Hawks twice and Geelong. The Swans game may be a little too reliant on Kurt Tippet at the moment and a few more outs such as Adam Goodes’ late withdrawal will hurt, but at the end of the day, they are better than the Blues and a big factor… This is September. The Swans love September. The Swans also took down the last battle against the Blues, back in round 14 where they won by 18 points.
The one factor for the blues to not forget is how hungry they will be. They have been given a second chance. They will fight this game out for sure, but the Swans will ultimately be too strong, especially considering they will be lacking Matthew Kreuzer. We are predicting a close victory for the Swans, somewhere in the range of two to three goals.
Bet on: Sydney Swans Under 39.5
Other Value Plays
Dream Team Group 3 at Luxbet
Daniel Hannebery has had some troubles with the tag in the late half of 2013, but he crushed the finals last year and we give him every chance to show the same tonight. He’s main threat in this group is Kade Simpson, while Hannebery should be able beat him and his other competitors in Luke Parker and Heath Scotland enough times to show value in this group.
Bet On: Daniel Hannebery ($3.00) at Luxbet
Most Disposals – O’Keefe Vs. Murphy at Luxbet
Marc Murphy has managed to find some form, but Ryan O’Keefe is a proven finals performer who knows how to get the ball. Jarrad McVeigh is reportedly a bit sore, which means O’Keefe will likely have to get even more of it out of the centre. If these players were paying even money, maybe it would be a “no bet”, but with O’keefe the roughie at $2.15, we are happy to take the value.
Bet On: Ryan O’Keefe ($2.15) at Luxbet
