Caulfield will host a large 10-race program on Saturday with the track all but assured to be a Good4. The three-year-old fillies start us off over 1200m in race one which gets us underway at 12:15pm (AEDT). The last of 10 will conclude a touch after 5:40pm. (AEDT) on a day which is predicted to be warm with a top of 30 degrees on course. We had a small loss in January for Saturday followers but I am confident we can attack February with a profitable weekend first up.

Caulfield Racing Tips: Saturday, February 3rd 2024
Race 3: Robert Hunter Handicap - 1:20pm (AEDT)
(3) Johnny Rocker hasn’t won in a year and a half but has raced in a lot better races than this. On resumption at Flemington he ran a very good 2nd in a field of 13 and he did make up gradual ground over the 1000m. He has won when second up before and a Dry track suits with the Nick Ryan trained horse winning on Good and Synthetic tracks previously. John Allen will have a decision to make from barrier 10 and will likely head back.
(4) Miss Icelandic has won half of her career starts on Good ground and comes into this event after 2 recent wins in a row. From barrier 1 she settled 2nd last time and from barrier 3 here, she will again go forward.
(8) Dakota Lee has never lost in 7 career starts but has a harder race here and a wide barrier in 10. Interesting runner who is now in the Tony McEvoy yard after a long spell.

Race 6: Mal Seccull Handicap - 3:05pm (AEDT)
(5) Herman Hesse has been tipped on this website by me on about 4 occasions so the old boy owes us. We nearly got there at this track last time when he was beaten by a nose on a Dry surface He is another who hasn’t won in ages but he is the fittest horse in the race and today is D-Day. Williams replaces Moor for the ride and it's his first ride on the seven-year-old.
(8) Fearentless got the money at The Valley last time but Caulfield is a totally different track. His last five runs have been at the tight Valley course which is a slight worry. Can handle any ground and has been in the placings his last three starts.
(1) Grand Promenade has won both jumpouts and will have admirers. He has won over the track & distance and the drier the better for the Shane Jackson trained eight-year-old. Looked a really promising horse a couple of years ago but hasn’t gone on with it but is good enough to be competitive here. Hasn’t won in more than two years so maybe just a Place.

Race 7: Sportsbet The Feed Handicap - 3:40pm (AEDT)
(10) Moveforlex gets to a distance that he will enjoy more here I reckon. He has been leading in shorter races and they have gone a bit too hard early but with the longer trip he may get away with slower sectionals which will allow him to control the speed. He drops 4kg in weight which will aid his chances, and from barrier 6 Michael Dee will go forward.
(7) Star Vega has drawn poorly in 12 but has won two on the bounce and has to be put into the exotics. Likes when they go fast early and she will go back from the wide barrier before hooking out late.
(13) Brooklyn Boss was beaten a nose at The Valley last week and connections think he can run a forward race again from another good barrier (3). Ran 2nd at his only try over the distance.
(10) Moveforlex
$5.50 (2 Units)
