We are back with anouther round of midweek racing tips, this time around for the the seven race card at Canterbury and the eight race card at Sandown Lakeside this Wednesday, the 7th of June.
CANTERBURY RACING TIPS
R1 - Boorooj (Best Bet)
R2 - Thai Boxing / Varuska EW
R3 - La Courbette EW
R4 - The Cheetah EW
R5 - Shield Wall / Mate Story EW
R6 - Invincible George (Best Value)
R7 - Shahrazad
Best Bet: Race 1 Boorooj
Finished 4th on debut in a very strong race in Group 3 company, beaten by a length by Teaspoon. Put out for a spell straight away and resumes here on the back of a nice trial. Draws the inside barrier and Bowman rides for the Snowden stable. Already been well supported and I'd expect it to start odds on so the $2.20 looks a decent price.
Best Value: Race 6 Invincible George
Open sort of race but this horse is a great price at $8.50. He's won three from four when first up and he probably should have won when he was first up last start but he had absolutely no luck in the straight. He's undefeated at the distance and although he's got a terrible barrier, he's got leading rider Kerrin McEvoy on board. Good track suits and think he's hard to beat.
SANDOWN LAKESIDE RACING TIPS
R1 - Cosmic Impact
R2 - New Horizons / Wenner EW
R3 - Concubine (Best Bet)
R4 - Granddukeoftuscancy
R5 - Invictum Domina
R6 - Don'tbabylon / Vega De Lago EW (Best Value if gets a run)
R7 - Barbie's Boy / My Paisann EW
R8 - But It's True / Lady Provocateur EW
Best Bet: Race 3 Concubine
Liked her win first up from a spell over 1300m on the synthetic where she really charged home late. That suggests the step up to the mile will suit her second up here, which is a distance she's won at previously. Has a good record second up, well drawn and $5 is a nice price.
Best Value: Race 6 Vega De Lago
Currently is first emergency as there's already been two scratchings in the race. If there's one more scratching she gets a run and she'll start half her current price of $31. Her first up win at Mildura was in much easier grade but she did it easily under a big weight and had trialled superbly leading into it. It appears she's come back in great order and her second up record suggests she improves quite sharply. She is a huge price.
