Canterbury Racing Tips – Wednesday, May 24th 2023
Race 3: Ranvet 1250m – 2:00pm (AEST)
(2) Bunker Hut – 3YO Gelding who has filled the minors 5 from 8 careers starts, including a win. Only finished 3L behind YELLOW BRICK Last Start at Sunshine Coast in an open race. Drops back to a BM64 here and gets a soft track where hos sole win as come from. Two back only just missed in this grade and will be rock hard fit third up. Confident win bet.
(1) Bat Out Of Hell - 3YO Gelding who started his first prep really well. Didn’t miss the minors at all. Gets a claimer today which puts him right in this. Each way price may appeal to some.
Bunker Hut - Win
$2 (4 Units)
Race 5: Admire Mars at Arrowfield BM72 1550m - 3:10pm (AEST)
(6) Celestial Spirit – 3YO Filly who is getting a quick back up here, only racing a week ago where she only just missed finishing second. The more rain the better as she likes it heavy, so wet is preferred. Should be rock hard fit now 4th up and due a second win. Not far off and looks suited here.
(10) Wilshire Boulevard – 4YO mare who has been up for a while now, but gets back to midweek country racing this week. Drops significant distance from last outings but gets light weight. If the rain comes and we get a heavy track she will be worth a small play.
Celestial Spirit - Win
$2.50 (2 Units)
Race 7: Tab BM72 1550m – 4:20pm (AEST)
(1) Cinque Torri – 4YO gelding who has already been crunched in the early market. Back to midweek and easier company here. Loves the soft conditions with 3 wins and a further 3 placings. Proven twice from three attempts third up which lines us up here for sniff. Draws a nice gate and gets a 3kg claim engaged. Expect to get on the pace and be putting the burners on late. Goes well.
(3) Fuller – Backed last start and finished third at a nice price. Looks like he may appreciate the 1550m trip and go well. Likes the wet track too. Top 3.
Cinque Torri – E/W
$8/$2.50 (1u/2u)
