BBL11 Sixers vs Thunder Betting Tips
SCG, Saturday 15th January, 6.40pm (AEDT)
Sydney Sixers
Predicted XI: Josh Philippe, Jack Edwards, Daniel Hughes, Moises Henriques, Dan Christian, Shadab Khan, Sean Abbot, Hayden Kerr, Ben Dwarshuis, Jackson Bird, Jackson Bird, Todd Murphy
The Sixers lost two games on the trot to the Perth Scorchers but got back on the winners list on Tuesday with a victory over the Melbourne Renegades. They are now on the back of a full three days off, so should be well rested for their clash against the Thunder. They Sixers side we thought we would see at the start of the tournament is a far stretch from the one that is available at the selection table at the moment.
The list of star players that have already filtered through the Sixers squad on paper this season include the likes of James Vince, Chris Jordan, Tom Curran and Carlos Brathwaite. Unfortunately, they now only have one international to fall back on in Shadab Khan, but the fact that they are still widely considered a title contender is a testament to their depth.
Sydney Thunder
Predicted XI: Matthew Gilkes, Alex Hales, Jason Sangha, Daniel Sams, Oliver Davies, Ben Cutting, Baxter Holt, Nathan McAndrew, Gurinder Sandhu, Tanveer Sangha, Muhammad Hasnain
The bubble had to burst at some point for the Thunder, and after winning six straight games, it finally happened against the Hurricanes on Thursday. They only went down by nine runs in a game that could have really gone either way, so there’s definitely no need to panic for Thunder fans. They have a tough game against the Sixers here but finish with a winnable clash against the Renegades so will likely finish in the top two.
They lost Sam Billings to the English Test team but still have a dynamic batting line-up full of match-winners in the likes of Alex Hales, Daniel Sams, Jason Sangha and Oliver Davies. Skipper Chris Green is also still to come back into the side as he completes his isolation period.
Match Prediction
Can’t get enough of the Thunder at the moment. It took a pretty special innings from Matthew Wade to defeat them in their last game. Their batting unit is just looking so good at the moment. Not only are they getting production from their star import in Alex Hales, their young guns have been electric over the last month. Jason Sangha sits in the top five for total runs scores in BBL11 while the decision to move Daniel Sams to No.4 in the line-up has been a revelation.
I think this will be a close game and I think the toss will have a big impact, but if I had to lean either way at the moment, I would pick the Thunder to win this one.
Same Game Multi
When given the opportunity to this season, the Thunder have scored 145+ runs in 9/10 games this season. Their batting line-up put up 168 in a loss in their last game. Back them to score 145+ here.
Alex Hales scored a duck in his first innings of the season, since then he has reeled off 10+ runs in nine straight games with his last four resulting in 26, 63, 80 and 38. Back him to pass the mark again.
the third and final leg of our same game multi will be the first wicket of the game to be caught. This bet just keeps saluting in this BBL season and we are going to keep riding the value as long as its there.
