BBL11 Renegades vs Hurricanes Betting Tips
Marvel Stadium, Wednesday 29th December, 7.15pm
Melbourne Renegades
Predicted XI: Aaron Finch, Mackenzie Harvey, Nic Maddinson, Sam Harper, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Mohammad Nabi, Will Sutherland, James Pattinson, Reece Topley, Kane Richardson, Zahir Khan
It’s been a tough season for the Renegades to date. They have just 1 win through their five games and have picked up just one extra big bash point in that span as well. They went down to the Scorchers in their last game and have scored over 160 runs on just one occasion.
They will get experienced fast bowler Kane Richardson back on Wednesday night after he missed the last game through illness. Expect either Jack Prestwidge or Reece Topley to make way for him.
Hobart Hurricanes
Predicted XI: Matthew Wade, Ben McDermott, D’Arcy Short, Peter Handscomb, Harry Brook, Tim David, Jordan Thompson, Nathan Ellis, Tom Rogers, Riley Meredith, Sandeep Lamichhane
The Cane Train continued to roll on Monday night as they defeated the Adelaide Strikers in a great game. Bowling first, the Strikers managed 175 runs, a tough target when chasing at Blundstone Arena. Ben McDermott scored his 2nd BBL hundred to lead the Hurricanes to a brilliant win which sent them to 3rd place on the table with a 3-3 record.
I don’t expect the Hurricanes to make any changes for the Wednesday night clash after their great win.
Match Prediction
It’s pretty hard to back the Renegades in any fashion at the moment. Their batting line-up is incredibly weak and reliant on captain Nic Maddinson and an out of form Aaron Finch.
On the contrary, the Canes batting line-up looks so strong at the moment. They have barely got any production from D’Acry Short yet this season but they have still averaged almost 160 runs per game this season. They have pit up 180 and 176 in the last two, back them to win against the Renegades.

Ben McDermott is in a rich vein of form at the moment. In his four innings so far in BBL11, he has scores of 41, 8, 67 and 110. I love the odds of him to surpass 20 runs against the Renegades.
The 2nd leg will be the Hurricanes to score 130+. Batting first, they’ll get this with their eyes closed, as they have done in all six of their games this season. Even batting 2nd, this shouldn’t be an issue as the Gades have also cleared this mark in four of their five games.
The last leg, as always, will be the first wicket of the game to be caught. At the time of writing, this bet has saluted in a very healthy 19/24 games so far this season.
