BBL11 Heat vs Renegades Betting Tips
Metricon Stadium, Monday December 13th, 7.15pm (AEDT)
Brisbane Heat
Predicted XI: Chris Lynn, Max Bryant, Ben Duckett, Sam Heazlett, Jimmy Peirson, Tom Abell, James Bazley, Xavier Bartlett, Cameron Gannon, Mitch Swepson, Mujeeb Ur Rahman
The Heat should have some handy inclusions for the Monday night clash, with Tom Abell, Mark Steketee and Mitch Swepson likely to come back into the line-up after their Australia A game. Michael Neser is probably less likely to don the Teal on Monday night, as he will probably remain with the international squad ahead of the Adelaide Test.
The Heat currently sit at the bottom of the table with a 0-2 record and will be desperate to get on the board after losses to the Thunder and Scorchers in their opening games.
Melbourne Renegades
Predicted XI: Sam Harper, Mackenzie Harper, Nic Maddinson, Jake Fraser McGurk, James Seymour, Mohammad Nabi, Will Sutherland, James Pattinson, Kane Richardson, Reece Topley, Zahir Khan
The Renegades have been patiently awaiting the return of two big stars in Aaron Finch and Nic Maddinson, they will get the latter of the two back in the line-up on Monday night as Maddinson is set to make his debut as captain. He has been in great touch with the bat, coming off a brilliant 71 off just 46 balls in Australia A’s win over the British Lions in the tour match.
The Gades bowling unit has been pretty good through the opening two games, keeping the Strikers to 151 and 149 in back to back games. Their batting failed miserably in the 2nd clash though, as they were rolled for just 100 off 18.4 overs. They’ll be looking to their new skipper to add some much needed stability in the middle order.
Match Prediction
Traditionally, the Heat actually haven’t played that well at Metricon Stadium, winning just one of their six matches there dating back to 2018. However, I still think it’s interesting that they start as $1.99 underdogs here against a Renegades side that looks really weak on paper.
That could potentially mean that the bookies already know more than us when it comes to the potential inclusions for the Heat, but if Maddinson is able to make the trip to the Gold Coast for the game, I see no reason why Steketee, Abell, Swepson and possibly even Neser could also.
If the Heat get even just two of those players back it will make a massive difference to the look of their line-up. I love them as underdogs here.
Same Game Multi
Mujeeb Ur Rahman has taken at least one wicket in 17 of his 27 BBL games to date and has taken three wickets in four games against the Renegades in the past. He is arguably one of the best T20 spinners in the world and I think he will get a more attacking role in the Heat line-up with the return of Mitch Swepson.
Kane Richardson has started the season in hot form, picking up five wickets in the opening two games at a very respectable economy rate of 7.00. He has 10 wickets in eight career games against the Heat.
I think Nic Maddinson is one of, if not the in form batsman in Australia at the moment. He is coming off a brilliant stretch in the Sheffield Shield opening games as well as a 71 off just 46 balls in the Australia A game. Will bat at three for the Renegades as captain and will be their lynchpin throughout the season.
Mujeeb 1+ Wicket
Richardson 1+ Wicket
Maddinson 20+ Runs
