The MCG will host a massive match Saturday night as the in-form Scorchers take on the inconsistent Melbourne Stars in a crucial match for both teams. The Scorchers have been one of the top teams in the competition in recent weeks, having won 6 of their last 7 matches at the time of writing.
The Stars have been incredibly up and down throughout the tournament but still manage to find themselves in third position thanks to their competition-leading 8 bonus points. They come into this off the back off a disappointing loss to their cross-town rivals in the Renegades. Big guns Maxwell and Stoinis have been in disappointing form recently and will look to find some form here tonight.

Match Prediction
This match sees two sides who are both gunning for the finals in a few weeks time and looks a big matchup in the scheme of the competition. The Scorchers, at the time of writing have won 6 of their last 7 arguably look the team to beat at this stage. History tells us this match is set up to be a close one with the current record showing as eight wins each.
The Stars have been a touch disappointing if you look at the players at their disposal but have still kept battling and look in a solid position thanks to their bonus points. They will be keen to regain some form as we approach the pointy end of the season. Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis will need to find some runs as they both have hit a form slump and the Stars’ performances have reflected this.
Luckily for the Stars, led by Adam Zampa, their bowlers have been excellent recently and continue to keep them in the game. I’m keen to back the Stars here and am expecting their batsmen to bounce back here tonight. They have had a big turnaround since their last match on Wednesday and come into this against a side who only played on Friday afternoon.
The return to the MCG bodes well for the Stars and they will relish the opportunity to perform in front of their home crowd. Maxwell and Stoinis both love batting at this ground and will be keen to perform tonight.
Melbourne Stars Prop Bet
There is no doubting the importance that Marcus Stoinis has for this Stars team and he is crucial to them coming out with the win here tonight. Stoinis has been up and down all season and we’ve seen when he performs well, his side usually does as well.
I’m banking on Stoinis going large tonight as he returns to his favoured MCG and in turn, the Stars coming out on top. Stoinis has been solid without being elite this season and he will be looking to return to some form as the finals approach.
After a slow start to the tournament, Stoinis’ last 5 scores read 43, 13, 47, 34 and 97 so it is clear he is finding his feet in the season. I’m keen to get on his back here and he will give this a big shake tonight.

Scorchers Prop Bet
We are going to target a bowler for the Scorchers here in a team with so many star batsmen. Jhye Richardson has been one of the standout bowlers in the competition recently and has seemingly been taking wickets for fun.
Richardson has taken 3+ wickets on four occasions this season and that will more often than not see you topping the wicket-taker charts. Richardson is a huge reason the Scorchers have surged up the BBL ladder and he looks like continuing his hot run of form here.
