The Big Bash rolls on as we head back to the Adelaide Oval for the Sydney Derby as the Thunder take on the Sixers in a crucial match for both sides. The Sixers have continued on their merry way and comfortably sit at the top of the ladder while their opponents are in a massive slump of form.
The Thunder have now lost their last three matches to see them drop to 4th on the ladder and desperately need to regain that winning feeling here tonight. They have been batting relatively well throughout this form slump but it has been the bowling which has let them down in recent weeks.
The Sixers meanwhile have continued on their winning ways and sit a massive eight points clear at the top of the ladder. The Josh Philippe show continues to roll on as he marches towards the leading run scorer crown for this season.

Match Prediction
It was the Sixers who came out on top last week when these two teams met in a rain-affected match at Manuka Oval. You could argue the Sixers were aided by the rain as the side batting second and the Thunder will be out for revenge here. The form of Josh Philippe has been outstanding and he has been helped out by the majority of his side chipping in where needed.
The Thunder bowlers have been struggling as of late which has seen them conceding a massive amount of runs in their past three matches. After looking so solid in the first half of the tournament the green side of Sydney will need to find some form to be a chance in this match tonight.
With that being said, I am siding with the high-flying Sixers to get the win once again as they march towards the BBL finals. I can’t see the Thunder turning the tables on this team after their last meeting and I am expecting Philippe and his teammates to cash in on a struggling Thunder bowling lineup. The Sixers have won 12 out of 18 games across the history of these two teams and I’m really keen to follow them with the strong form they are in.
Josh Philippe is once again a key factor in tonight’s match as he sits comfortably at the top of the run scoring charts with a massive 421 runs in the tournament. I love the matchup he faces tonight as he comes up against a bowling side who have struggled in recent weeks.
The Sixers have been clinical in everything they have done this season and will look to find some momentum as they head into the finals. It’s hard to tip against the form side of the competition and am keen to be on them again here.
Sydney Thunder Prop Bet
Going to take a little risk here and side with a player who is out of form in Usman Khawaga. We all know the class that Khawaga has and he has shown glimpses of it throughout his BBL10 campaign. I think the Thunder are going to need one of their big guns to stand up and I think Khawaga can be the one.
He has scored 30+ runs in four innings this season but just hasn’t been able to go on with a big score. In a massive Sydney derby, Khawaga will be keen to perform against his rivals and may finally be able to go on with a big one. I think there will be plenty of wickets falling around him and the experience may be able to help Khawaga see out the tough Sixers’ bowling.

Sydney Sixers Prop Bet
Going to sound like a broken record here but how can you not back Josh Philippe? He has been incredible once again this season and tops the run scoring charts easily. Philippe also comes into this match off the back of two cracking innings where he posted 64 and 84 respectively, top scoring for the Sixers on both occasions.
One of those innings was against the Thunder where Philippe took the bowlers to all parts of the ground. That innings will give him a massive amount of confidence and in turn, may have the Thunder bowlers second guessing their plans.
Philippe looks the one to beat in the Sixers team tonight and I am happy to follow the man in form once again.
