BBL11 Scorchers vs Sixers Betting Tips
Marvel Stadium, Saturday 22nd January, 7:15pm (AEDT)
Perth Scorchers
Predicted XI: Kurtis Patterson, Josh Inglis (wk), Mitchell Marsh, Colin Munro, Ashton Turner (c), Aaron Hardie, Ashton Agar, Andrew Tye, Jhye Richardson, Jason Behrendorff, Peter Hatzoglou
The Scorchers are well set for this one having regained star trio Mitch Marsh, Josh Inglis and Jhye Richardson. Each offer high quality in separate facets of the game, improving the Perth line up markedly.
With the bat there is plenty of power hitting on offer, Marsh, Colin Munro and Ashton Turner all capable of clearing the fence with ease.
Complementing the batting group is a diverse and experienced bowling group. Up to seven bowlers could be used by the Scorchers but Andrew Tye, Richardson and Ashton Agar are likely to lead the attack.
Sydney Sixers
Predicted XI: Jack Edwards, Josh Phillipe, Daniel Hughes, Moises Henriques (c), Dan Christian, Justin Avendano, Sean Abbott, Hayden Kerr, Ben Dwarshuis, Nathan Lyon, Steve O’Keefe
The Sixers are also just about at full strength entering yet another finals campaign, with Jordan Silk the only regular starter who remains in doubt.
A last-minute ploy to bring Steve Smith into the team was unsuccessful, which is a shame as he would have bolstered the batting options and put bums on seats at Marvel Stadium.
Despite that, the Sixers make up for a lack of firepower with a batting order that is deep and lacks proper tailenders bar SOK.
Much like the Scorchers, Sydney has plentiful bowling options and probably the best pace trio in the competition led by Sean Abbott.
Match Prediction
We are set for a titanic battle between two powerhouse teams on Saturday night.
Firstly, looking at previous contests the Scorchers and Sixers can’t be split. Out of the last 5 matches the teams have played against each other Sydney only just hold the upper hand with a 3-2 record.
Comparing the teams on paper, I’m liking the look of the Scorchers this time around. I believe their batting is stronger and has more gears, with muscle men who should benefit from the meagre dimensions of Marvel. They also have the strike bowling weapons up front to allow BBL legend Andrew Tye to own the death overs.
Both sides are experts at defending small totals but if Perth can bat first, I can easily see them putting a 160+ score on the board.
Taking all of this into account, I’m on the men from the west.

Marsh has gone over 20 runs in 5/6 knocks this season, is in the form of his life and has played well at Docklands. Back him to make a strong contribution tonight and put one into the crowd.
The final leg has been a BYB favourite this season. The first wicket of the game to be caught has been a regular winner I’m willing it home one more time.
