Racing returns to Ascot on Saturday to headline racing in WA. The rail is out 7m the entirety after being out 5m last week – track seemed to play pretty well with tempo the main factor in whether they could run on or not. Our selections are for a GOOD track with hot conditions expected – watch and monitor for any pattern if possible.

Ascot Racing Tips: Saturday, November 4th 2023
Race 2: Amelia Park RS1MW 1500m at 4:04pm AEDT
(6) MALKAR PINDARI ($2.05) – she’s the best bet of the day! Arguably should’ve won her last three and she can turn the tables on LAQUETTA’S GIFT today. She won her maiden three-back in scintillating fashion coming from near last on the corner before sailing down the outside to win by 2.4L eased down. She then went to Class 3 grade, sat worse than midfield, got to the outside and went straight past them all (beat WANGO AWARD that day who since won well / also here). She stayed at 1400m LS and settled in a gun position before getting shuffled back before the corner (held up key stage) while LAQUETTA’S GIFT, who had the run of the race, was off and gone. She only just missed (beaten 0.1L) with decent gaps behind. Draws a lovely gate to settle closer in the run, meets LAQUETTA’S GIFT 1.5kgs better at the weights, and the extra 100m looks ideal. Very hard to beat.
(3) LAQUETTAS GIFT ($3.50) – Backed last start and scored nicely with PIKE in the saddle. Pike has opted to remain in the saddle here. Should run well.
(6) MALKAR PINDARI - WIN
$2.05 (5 Units)
Race 6: Selangor Turf Club Tropghy BM66 1200m at 6:45pm AEDT
(4) REAR ADMIRAL ($2.70) – comes into this off a very good trial where she won under a firm grip. She’s unbeaten fresh and goes best on top of the ground. I think she maps nicely from the wide gate with quite a few inside her likely to settle midfield or worse. If we go back to her first up run at the end of last year she won over 1200m at Belmont beating LAQUETTA’S GIFT by about 6L. I think she still has some upside as a new season 4YO and she can return a winner here. Keen she runs well.
(4) REAR ADMIRAL - WIN
$2.70 (3.5 Units)
Race 7: Tabtouch Prince Of Wales Stakes 1000m at 7:20pm AEDT
(9) MY BELLA MAE ($3.80) – comes out of one of the key form races behind RED CAN MAN in the Crawford Stakes where she ran second beaten half a length. If you swap the runs, you swap the result. She’s had to come from 3-back the fence on the corner and force her way out before hitting the line strongly while RED CAN MAN had the run of the race behind the leaders. She meets him 3.5kgs better at the weights and I think she maps to get a gun run behind the speed from the wide draw. Her first up run before that was a total forgive job behind LONG BEACH (she had 59kgs and the race was run in pouring rain). She has an excellent record at the track, a nice association with Carberry, and goes best on top of the ground. She can turn the tables.
(1) RED CAN MAN ($2.70) – 7YO who led all the way in the previous and will still take catching here. Fitter and draws well.
(9) MY BELLA MAE - WIN
$3.80 (2 Units)
Race 8: Hosemasters – Asian Beau Stakes 1400m at 7:57pm AEDT
(7) ALSEPHINA ($2.60) – next best bet of the day! One of the boom mares in the West who returns after stringing 6 wins in a row last prep (7 of 8 in all). It’s the first time we’ve seen her at the races for 307 days, but she’s had 3 trials leading into this and looks in great order. One of those trials she ran right up to RED CAN MAN who since came out and won at Listed level and is favourite again in an earlier race. I note The Wizard has accompanied her at each of her trials which suggests he’s keen to retain the ride. She draws a beautiful gate, gets in on the minimum, is unbeaten at Ascot, enjoys a dry track, and can settle a little closer in the run. Great chance.
(7) ALSEPHINA - WIN
$2.60 (3 Units)
