AFLW Round 10 Betting Tips
Carlton vs Western Bulldogs
Friday 6:10pm AEDT, Ikon Park
It’s a simple equation for the Western Bulldogs on Friday night - win and they are in. The Bulldogs are currently a game inside the eight with ahead of the Suns on percentage, however they leave themselves vulnerable to falling out of the eight if they can’t defeat the Blues.
Carlton could only manage two goals last week against Gold Coast last week, and with the performances they’ve shown across this season, it’s difficult to see Carlton seriously challenging the Dogs. The Bulldogs have been excellent in the last fortnight with convincing performances in wins over the Saints and Eagles. The Bulldogs’ pressure game was through the roof last week, recording 61 tackles against West Coast. The dogs were excellent in the contest, winning the contested possession and clearance battle by thirteen.
If the Dogs can bring the heat in the contest as they have done the last two weeks, they’re going to dominate territory, and expose a Carlton midfield that has underperformed all season long. With a finals spot on the line for only the second time in their history, the Dogs will secure their spot with a win over the Blues on Friday night.

Brisbane vs Collingwood
Friday 8:10pm AEDT, Metricon Stadium
Minor premiership and top four hopes are on the line when Brisbane take on Collingwood in a Friday night blockbuster. The Lions have a 27.4% advantage on percentage over second placed Melbourne, but with the Demons playing West Coast, there’s a genuine chance they could make up that gap. Collingwood surrendered their spot in the top four after a 32 point defeat against the Kangaroos in Round 9, and will be relying on a Richmond loss if they’re to secure the double chance.
Brisbane were at their very best last week, recording +102 for disposals, +33 contested possessions, +24 inside 50’s +13 tackles and +8 clearances in their 54 point win over the Hawks. The Lions are the highest scoring team in the competition this season, and registered 20 scoring shots when they last took on Collingwood. In their last four games Brisbane have registered 22, 8, 13 and 16 shots at goal, and they’re going to put the Pie’s defence under a mountain of pressure.
Collingwood had no answers for a rampant North Melbourne side last week, and it’s going to be a tough prospect turning things around against the best side in the competition. Brisbane have won the last four encounters between these two sides, including a 50 point smashing in last season’s qualifying final. With the minor premiership within their grasp, expect a big performance from the Lions on Friday night.

North Melbourne vs Richmond
Saturday 8:10pm AEDT, Arden Street
Sunday afternoon football at Arden Street sees a huge clash, with the winner likely to finish in fourth position on the ladder. North Melbourne’s percentage boosting win over Collingwood saw Richmond replace the Pies in the top four, and will finish fourth if they beat the Tigers and the Pies lose to Brisbane. After starting the season 0-2, Richmond have won seven games in a row, including a 43 point win over GWS last week.
The big question surrounding Richmond is their ability to perform against the best sides in the competition. In their seven game winning streak only one win came against a top eight side, and they have won just one out of three games against top eight opposition this season.
The Roos on the other hand, are battle hardened having played six of their nine games so far this season against teams inside the top eight. North Melbourne are 3-3 in those six games, with their three losses coming by 2 points against Melbourne, 7 points against Brisbane and 14 points against Adelaide. Even in their losses they have been right in these games. This is set to be a cracking contest between two in form sides, with a top four position on the line. The Kangaroos experience will hold them in good stead under pressure on Sunday, and they will knock off a Richmond outfit that hasn’t been great against top eight teams.

Melbourne vs West Coast - Casey Fields, Saturday 1:10pm AEDT
Melbourne have held their opponents to 1.3.9 in each of their last three games, and with a 27.4% gap away from top spot they’ll be out to produce another ruthless performance in the lead up to finals. The Demons have won their last five games by margins of 42, 30, 64, 49 and 51 points. Melbourne needs all the percentage they can possibly get if they’re to steal the minor premiership from Brisbane. A big win at home is incoming for the Dees.

Geelong vs Sydney - GMHBA Stadium, Saturday 5:10pm AEDT
Geelong are sitting a game inside the top eight and have a 54% advantage. Geelong won’t have any trouble beating the Swans, it's about whether they can win by 37 or more. Geelong has only won once by over 27 points this season, while Sydney have lost their last four by under 29 points.
Tip: Sydney +36.5, $1.90 with Ladbrokes
Fremantle vs Hawthorn - Fremantle Oval, Saturday 7:10pm AEDT
A dead rubber in Fremantle on Saturday night sees the Dockers and Hawks take on each other, with the winner to avoid finishing the season in the bottom four. The Dockers will have added motivation to win in what will be Kara Antonio’s final game. Fremantle got over the line last week against the Swans and they will again when they take on Hawthorn.
Tip: Fremantle, Odds TBA
Port Adelaide vs Essendon - Alberton Oval, Sunday 1:10pm AEDT
Port Adelaide couldn’t get over the line against St Kilda, and the Bombers will be looking to end their season on a high note. The Power have lost five in a row, and while both expansion sides are tiring as the season has worn on, the Bombers have played the better football of the two sides. Essendon have run out of gas in the second half this season, but they've got too much depth for the Power to contain

GWS vs Gold Coast - Henson Park, Sunday 5:10pm AEDT
The Season 7 home & away season concludes on Sunday evening with Gold Coast looking to jump into the top eight. The fixture is a dead rubber for GWS who have nothing on the line, while the Suns have an opporuntiy to make finals if other results go their way. If the Suns are to sneak in, they'll need a massive percentage boost, and a matchup against the Giants come at the perfect time.
Tip: Gold Coast -14.5, $1.90 with Ladbrokes
