AFL Hawks vs Suns Betting Tips
Adelaide Oval, Sunday 1.05pm (AEST)
Not much is on the line for this clash, with both the Hawks and the Suns being well out of the finals race. They sit in 14th and 16th place respectively and it’s unclear as to whether either team might be looking to tank this game in an aim to secure a better draft pick. Not the greatest circumstances for betting, that’s for sure.
Hawthorn
The Hawks have lost their last seven games on the trot and nine of their last 10. They were comfortably beaten by the Bulldogs in Round 17, going down by 36 points, getting absolutely smashed out of the middle of the ground as the Bulldogs had the top five possession getters on the ground.
The Hawks have a fairly extensive injury list and won’t be taking any chances in the final round of the regular season. James Sicily, Isaac Smith, James Worpel and Ricky Henderson are all out for the season and given they are all healthy next season, the Hawks will be looking to a much improved season in 2021.
Tom Mitchell was quiet on the weekend, accumulating just 12 possessions in the loss to the Dogs. He has racked up 32.3 possessions per game over his last three games against the Suns and will be keen to break his recent run of poor form and end the season on a high. Back him to get 30+ disposals this week at good odds.

Gold Coast
The Suns were extremely competitive against the Pies in Round 17. The Suns led by as many as 14 points at one stage in the first half but in a must win game, the Pies bounced back to snatch a 22 point win.
Gold Coast have definitely shown signs this season and fans will no doubt be excited about what is to come in the future with the youngest list in the competition.
After being dropped earlier in the season for a lack of defensive work-rate, Alex Sexton was the best player on the ground for the Suns against Collingwood, racking up 15 touches, 5 marks and 3 goals in the loss. Sexton has kicked eight goals in his last four games and is good odds to kick another couple against a struggling Hawks side.
Prediction
Like the look of the Suns to round out the season with a win here. The young list will be looking to take some momentum into the off-season while the more experienced Hawks line-up will likely just be keen to get this long and drawn out 2020 season over with.
