Round 13 in the AFL season continues on Sunday with what should be a great three game slate! The action kicks off at 1.05pm and continues throughout the afternoon. As usual, we have you covered with a full preview and betting tips for all three games below.
AFL Round 13 Sunday Betting Tips
Adelaide vs Geelong
Adelaide Oval, 1.05pm (AEST)
The Crows are still searching their first win of the season but it is unlikely to come on Sunday as they square off against the blazing hot Cats. Geelong have won their last three on the trot, the last two of which super impressive wins over the Saints and Power by an average margin of 59.5 points.
They currently sit their on the ladder but have a big percentage advantage over the two teams above them, and Sunday’s game against the Crows will be a great opportunity to boost that percentage even further. The Cats have a fairly easy run home, with just one more game against a top eight opponent. They’ll fancy their chances to finish in the top two but will need to take care of business here.
37.5 is the largest line we have seen all year but given they have beaten two quality sides by 10 goals each over the last two weeks, this line still looks a bit low. The Crows were competitive by their standards last week and still went down by 57 points to the Bulldogs. Back the Cats to cover here.
Brisbane vs St Kilda
Gabba, 3.35pm (AEST)
After an ugly loss to the Cats in Round 11, the Saints bounced back on the weekend to record a fantastic win over the Bombers. Young forward Max King was impressive, kicking three goals as the Saints racked up a 35 point win. Zak Jones also looked great in his comeback to the side, winning 26 possessions.
The Lions looked a little shaky in Round 12 but still managed to secure a 1 point win over the Kangaroos at Metricon Stadium. They led for the majority of the game but faltered in the final quarter to let North Melbourne back into the contest, something that they wont be able to do against the Saints.
The Lions start as 15.5-point favourites here, which we think is a bit high given the form of the two teams over the past few weeks. The Lions are no doubt a great team at the Gabba and deserve to be favourites, but this line seems high against an in-form Saints side.
West Coast vs Greater Western Sydney
Optus Stadium, 6.10pm (AEST)
This is the game I will be looking forward to all weekend. GWS had recorded three straight wins over the Tigers, Suns and Bombers before a really uncharacteristic loss to the Swans in Round 12. They are a much better team than that loss might indicate, and get a great opportunity to make a statement against one of the in-form teams in the competition on Sunday.
After starting the season with a 1-3 record, the Eagles have won their last seven games on the trot and now look like the team that won the Grand Final in 2018. Their midfield is absolutely stacked, with four genuine A Graders running through there in Yeo, Kelly, Gaff and Shuey and their forward line is just as dynamic with two of the best key forwards and some exciting smalls.
The Eagles are in great form at the moment but despite the horror loss to the Swans last week, I just feel like the Giants have something up their sleeve here. They have some massive ins led by the return of Toby Greene and I think they should keep this close enough to cover.
