AFL Round 12 Geelong vs Port Adelaide Betting Tips
Optus Stadium, Friday 8.10pm (AEST)
The Cats and the Power will both be coming off big wins in Round 10 and will be looking to solify their spot at the top of the table with another win on Friday night. The Power already sit one game clear atop the ladder while the Cats sit eight points behind in third place.
Geelong
Geelong made a statement to the league in Round 11 as they decimated an in form Saints team by 59 points on Monday night. They will be hunting their third straight win on Friday night, which wil see them snatch 2nd place off the Brisbane Lions.
The Cats have a pretty solid looking injury list at the moment and should almost be at full strength for their clash with the Power. Gary Ablett remains on the sidelines indefinitely through personal reasons while Luke Dalhaus is out with a foot injury. Both Quinton Narkle and Josh Jenkins could push for selection against the Power.
Sam Menegola has been arguably the Cats best player this season and was dominant once again against the Saints, racking up 26 touches and two goals. He has expanded his running capacity this season which has allowed him to play more time in the midfield, especially with Patrick Dangerfield playing forward. Expect him to have another big game Friday night.

Port Adelaide
The Power also had a big win in Round 11 as they defeated the Tigers by 21 points at Adelaide Oval on Saturday night. They’ll get an extra two days of rest here, which will be massive as Geelong are coming off just three full days of recovery time. Travis Boak was dominant in the win over the Tigers, racking up 31 disposals while Robbie Gray had 22 touches and three goals.
Much like the Cats, the Power have a really good looking injury list at the moment, with only Ryan Burton, Todd Marshall and Conor Rozee missing from their potential best 22. Brad Ebert should return to the line-up bolstering what is a formidable forward line.
Sam Powell-Pepper averages just over 15 touches per game this season and was good against the Tigers, racking up 18 disposals and five tackles. He represents great value to rack up at least 15 against this Friday night.

Prediction
Really tough game to call either way here and the bookies agree, opening the markets with the Power as 5.5 point favourites. We are staying away from the match result as we think this could really go either way. Do like the look of the unders here though, as both teams have been fantastic defensively this season.
The Power is first in the league for goals allowed while the Cats are fourth. The Cats allowed just 34 points to the highest scoring team in the comp, St Kilda, and should bring a great defensive effort again on Friday night. Back this one to be an arm wrestle.
