AFL Round 11 Monday Betting Tips
St Kilda vs Geelong
Gabba, 6.10pm (AEST)
The Saints are one of the form sides in the competition at the moment, having won their four games on the trot, two of them against quality oppoennts in the Power and Suns. They’ll get another tough test this Monday night as they square off against the 6th placed Cats from 6.10pm. The Cats are coming off a great bounce back win over North Melbourne after losing to the Eagles the week before.
The two teams have a storied history dating back to the famous 2009 Grand Final but the Saints haven’t had a lot of success against the Cats in recent years. They have lost their last three games in a row against the Cats by an a erage margin of 37.3 points but will no doubt fancy themselves with a much improved list and form.
The Cats will start as 9.5 poitn favourites for this game, which is a little interesting given some of the scalps that the Saints have claimed over the last few months. The Cats will also be without some key players through injury while St Kilda have arguably the strongest injury list in the league at the moment. The Saints are 6-3 against the spread since the season resumed and we like them to cover on Monday night.
Fremantle vs Hawthorn
Optus Stadium, 8.40pm (AEST)
The Dockers claimed yet another great win over a quality opponent last week as they downed the Pies by 12 points at Optus Stadium. Just a few weeks prior, they came back from 37 points against the Saints to win the game. They are a sneaky tough opponent, especially when at home at Optus Stadium and will be on the back of an extended break after having their bye in Round 10.
The break looks to have paid dividends for the Dockers, with key injured players in James Aish, Stephen Hill and Jesse Hogan all looking like retrning on Monday night. The Hawks also had the bye in Round 10 and after struggling with injuries in the early parts of the season, they now have a near full strength squad to call upon.
Such a tough game to call as both teams have looked deplorable at times but also looked like finals sides sporadically throughout the season. Can’t lean one way or another on the result here but we think this game goes under. The average total score in the last three games Fremantle have been involved in is just 89 points. There is also some rain forecast for Perth on Monday night. Which should make for sloppy play.
