Perfect weather for Friday night footy! Let’s get stuck into it!
Where to Attack?
Both Brisbane and Port Adelaide offer good avenues for fantasy scoring as significant favourites in these two contests. The Kangaroos in particular are vulnerable to leaking fantasy points, with Brisbane mids and forwards looking to cash in on the favourable match up.
Game Script: Brisbane mids + forwards
VALUE PLAYS
Jackson Mead ($8,020) is now in his third year of senior AFL and might be ready to cement his place in the Power’s best 18. He was very lively last week with 6 tackles in his 69 fantasy score. With three scores around that mark this season, hopefully that’s his floor and he can upswing against the Bombers.
Hugh Greenwood ($8,590) comes into the Kangaroos side in an interesting role. With Callum Coleman-Jones going down with injury and Toby Pink dropped, the Roos have brought in Hugh Greenwood and Charlie Comben as replacements. Comben is a bigger body but has been playing VFL as a key defender, while Greenwood has been pinch-hitting as the backup ruckmen. Expect those roles to continue here, which makes Greenwood an interesting cheap option as a floating midfielder and 2nd ruck who we know does have a decent fantasy ceiling at this price.
MID PRICED PLAYS
Cam Rayner ($9,970) is building nicely in season 2024. Not sure if it’s quite the break out season that he’s teased us with for many years, but a 74.3 average isn’t too bad so far. He’s now facing a weak opposition and perhaps it’s his opportunity to grab a game by the throat and dominate. Will push through the midfield and forward and should get plenty of opportunity.
PREMIUM PLAYS
Dane Zorko ($14,320) has been enjoying a swing into the defensive half this season to cover for injuries with a 102 average across his first three games. It might feel dirty to pay $14k+ for the injury-plagued veteran, but he loves playing the Roos with a 111.7 historical average against them, including 8 tons in 9 matches. Sensational numbers.
Lachie Neale ($15,410) enjoyed a freshen up before looking back to his best last week against the Pies with 35 disposals and 118 fantasy points. Neale enjoys a 107.8 average against the Roos and looks primed for a massive score here.
