Another Friday night AFL blockbuster in Round 13 as the Western Bulldogs look to claim another big scalp as they host a desperate Brisbane Lions team. Weather
Melbourne - Partly cloudy, 16 degrees
A nice Winter evening in Melbourne and although it will be cool at Marvel Stadium, we won’t have any issues with the weather affecting the match.
Where to Attack?
Two solid fantasy teams here so there’s not a lot of big trends to follow for this season.
The Bulldogs have conceded above average points to the opposition key forwards, so if you like the Lions to go well, then this could be an area to look at.
The Bulldogs are also one of the most restrictive teams to opposition defenders, so don’t expect the Brisbane back to get too much easy possession.
Game Script: Brisbane forwards, Bulldogs defenders
VALUE PLAYS
Riley Garcia ($8,250) might be the best of the value options as many of the cheap players are unreliable or rather unspectacular on this slate. Garcia has a 62.3 season average with a high of 85, but has posted 78 and 76 in his last two which is the sort of numbers we are hoping for.
Charlie Cameron ($8,630) is very much an all-or-nothing play but if the Lions do well, then Charlie could be in the action. Has a 63.7 season average and a solid 75.3 average in his last three, but it’s the 106 season high that’s attractive. If Charlie can get on a roll, he is capable of kicking a bag which would more than hit value at this price point.
MID PRICED PLAYS
Zac Bailey ($9,920) is attractive at under $10k for someone capable of going big. Came back last week after an injury lay off, so he’ll be better for the run and should get minutes through the middle of the ground. Capable of smashing out a ton which would be great value.
Jarrod Berry ($12,950) hasn’t done much wrong this season with a 92.2 average, including five tons in his last seven matches with a season high of 131. With the top Bulldogs mids bumped up in price, and a little uncertainty over the mid-priced Dogs mids, I like the reliability of Berry at this price.
PREMIUM PLAYS
Lachie Neale ($13,630) will have enjoyed the freshen up from the bye and will head into the second half of the season in good form with recent scores of 137, 80, 122 and 100. Much like Jarrod Berry, we’re getting a good price on Neale against the premium Bulldogs mids. Happy the take the reigning Brownlow medallist for $13k!
Bailey Dale ($15,170) has been sensational since he was demoted into the sub role with six tons in seven matches including a massive 160 for a six-game average of 107. Might get some attention from a Lions negative forward tag, but should still be able to find plenty of the ball as the chief designated kicker for the Dogs. Looks a solid premium option once again.
