Where to Attack?
The Tigers are sitting second last on the ladder and have been absolutely bleeding fantasy points across all positions this season. Forwards have been the best area to attack, which is no surprise, and once again Adelaide are over 5 goal favourites in this matchup. Richmond have given up over 6 points per game above league average to key forwards and astonishing 12.8 points per game above league average to general forwards.
Richmond have also been getting carved up by opposition midfielders, although they are getting several of their veteran players back this week which may make it a bit harder. So, you can stack up the Crows through the middle and up forward, and even down back although the typical rule of a game stack will tell you to play the opposition down back in a single game slate.

VALUE PLAYS
Kieran Strachan ($7,660) is going to be a pretty obvious value play on this slate. Taking the role of the number one ruck replacing a dropped Reilly O’Brien, he will have every opportunity to return significant value at this price point. In 2021 Strachan played two games as the ruck and notched up 73 and 74 fantasy points. Then in 2022 he played another two games posting a 41 and then a career high 92 points. The upside is there and if you need value this is an easy place to get it. The flip side is Toby Nankervis could very likely destroy the inexperienced Strachan, so you could choose to pay up at this position as well.
Sam Berry ($6,990) / Billy Dowling ($6,910) These two are both on sub watch, but we know it can only be one of them to start the game. Berry has shown in past seasons he can score fantasy points through tackles if he gets extended time as an inside midfielder. Meanwhile, Billy Dowling is making his long-awaited debut as one of the most prolific ball winners and fantasy scorers in his draft year. I’d be locking in whoever starts out of these two and you have the option roster both if neither start as the sub.
MID PRICED PLAYS
Darcy Fogarty ($9,620) with the big Texan still out of the lineup Darcy Fogarty will become the number one target up forward for the Crows in what will be the best matchup he will likely get all year. Fogarty has posted two games of 91+ in his last four games so he certainly has the ceiling to win you a large gpp tournament and this is the game to do it.
Josh Rachele ($9,450) is another in a similar price range that will play up forward but also get opportunity through the midfield with both Izak Rankine and Matt Crouch out. Two weeks ago he attended almost 50% of their centre bounces and this week will also have plenty of opportunity to hit the scoreboard. As noted above general forwards are the best matchup for the Tigers this year.
PREMIUM PLAYS
Rory Laird ($15,380) with Matt Crouch out of the lineup Laird should resume his usual role in the midfield. Last year he averaged around 120 points per game as the team’s number one inside mid, but this year the numbers have dropped as they have looked to spread the role around more and increase their leg speed in the middle of the ground. With Crouch out this shouldn’t be a concern. Laird posted 99 fantasy points last week while attending just 32% of their centre bounces. I expect that number to get back over 60%, and in this matchup and he has a ceiling of over 120 fantasy points.
