PGA Tour RBC Heritage Betting Tips

After the emotional highs and intensity of Augusta National, the PGA Tour heads to the picturesque shores of Hilton Head Island for the 2025 RBC Heritage, beginning April 17th. While it offers a more relaxed, coastal vibe compared to the grandeur of the Masters, this signature event has become a staple for elite players looking to stay sharp and contend on a completely different style of course. Harbour Town Golf Links is a demanding layout in its own right — narrow, technical, and uniquely suited to shot-makers.

The Field

As one of the PGA Tour’s signature events, the 2025 RBC Heritage will once again feature a stacked field of top-50 players in the FedEx Cup standings, alongside invited international stars and past champions. Expect Scottie Scheffler, Patrick Cantlay, and Xander Schauffele to tee it up, each bringing strong recent form and a game suited to Harbour Town’s emphasis on accuracy and course management.

Defending champion Matt Fitzpatrick returns to Hilton Head with fond memories of his playoff victory over Jordan Spieth in 2023 and a top-10 finish in 2024. Fitzpatrick's combination of precision driving and creative scrambling makes him a perennial threat here. Also expected to make noise is Collin Morikawa, whose ball-striking fits the course’s demands perfectly. He’ll be looking to build on a resurgent 2025 campaign and notch his first win of the season.

Among the dark horses, Sahith Theegala, Tom Kim, and Chris Kirk stand out as potential contenders. Theegala and Kim both thrive on imagination and shot-shaping — perfect attributes for Harbour Town’s angles and wind. Meanwhile, Kirk's steady, fairway-first style has historically played well at this venue, and he’s quietly putting together a solid season under the radar.

The Course

Harbour Town Golf Links, designed by Pete Dye with input from Jack Nicklaus, is one of the most distinctive and challenging courses on the PGA Tour. Measuring just over 7,200 yards, it’s not long by modern standards, but it places a premium on positional play, precision iron shots, and short-game creativity. Players who thrive here tend to value strategy over power, and patience is often rewarded more than aggression.

The small, firm greens at Harbour Town are among the toughest to hit in regulation on Tour, making scrambling and putting key components for any potential champion. Wind is also a constant factor, particularly on the back nine, where swirling breezes off the coast can dramatically influence club selection. With overhanging trees, tight doglegs, and well-placed hazards, it demands total control tee-to-green.

The closing stretch is as scenic as it is dramatic. The famous lighthouse view at the 18th hole provides one of the Tour’s most iconic finishes, with the par-4 playing directly along the water. It’s a hole that has decided many RBC Heritage champions in recent years, and with another deep field lined up for 2025, expect it to once again be the stage for a Sunday showdown.

Betting Tips

Xander Schauffele ($15/Top 10 $2.37)

Schauffele’s current form makes him an easy name to circle this week. He’s racked up multiple top-10s already in 2025, including a solo fourth at The Players and a strong showing at the Masters. While he’s yet to win this season, he’s playing some of the most consistent golf on Tour — and Harbour Town is a great fit for his precision-based game. Schauffele ranks near the top in strokes gained: approach and around-the-green, both key stats on a layout like this.

Chris Kirk ($251/Top 30 $2.75)

Kirk has quietly put together a solid 2025 campaign, and Harbour Town suits his strengths perfectly. He’s not flashy off the tee, but his accuracy, short game, and course management are exactly what Pete Dye’s design demands. Kirk has had success here in the past (T7 in 2023) and is trending well with several top-25 finishes this year. His ability to keep the ball in play and avoid big numbers makes him a sleeper pick who could easily be in the mix come Sunday afternoon.

Denny McCarthy ($51/Top 20 $2.37)

The veteran Swede is enjoying a quietly excellent 2025 season and enters the RBC Heritage with momentum on his side. Noren has posted multiple top-25 finishes over the past couple of months and ranks inside the top 20 in strokes gained: approach this season — a crucial stat for Harbour Town. His tidy short game and strong putting are well-suited to the small, sloped greens, and his calm, methodical style fits the course’s strategic demands.
