Presidents Cup Betting Tips
Thursday 22nd - Sunday 25th September, Quail Hollow Club, Charlotte, North Carolina
Teams
Unfortunately, more so for the International team than the USA team, LIV Golf contracted players are not allowed to represent their region in the Presidents Cup. It’s a massive blow for the travelling side, who will be without the No.3 ranked player in the world in Cameron Smith. Some of the other highly ranked golfers who won’t be in action due to LIV contracts include the likes of Joaquin Niemann, Abraham Ancer and Marc Leishman.
Headlining the International team is Masters champion Hideki Matsuyama alongside Sungjae Im, Corey Connors and Adam Scott.
While the United States have had a lot of high profile LIV defectors , the real top end talent has remained intact at this stage, meaning they have a star studded line-up available for the Presidents Cup. 10 of the top ranked U.S. golfers will tee it up for their country this week, with Will Zalatoris (injury) and Dustin Johnson (LIV) will be the only players to miss.
The top names in the U.S. side include Scottie Scheffler, Patrick Cantlay, Xander Schauffele, Justin Thomas and Collin Morikawa.
U.S. TEAM: Scottie Scheffler (1st Presidents Cup), Patrick Cantlay (2nd), Xander Schauffele (2nd), Sam Burns (1st), Justin Thomas (3rd), Tony Finau (2nd), Max Homa (1st), Billy Horschel (1st), Kevin Kisner (2nd), Collin Morikawa (1st), Jordan Spieth (4th), Cameron Young (1st).

The Course
Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carlina is one of the most famous stops on the annual PGA Tour schedule as the regular host of the Wells Fargo Championship. The course is a Par 71 at 7,571 yards and was designed by George Cobb back in the 1960s. The course has recently undergone upgrades under the supervision of famous golf designer Tom Fazio, making it more playable for the modern day golfer.
Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy holds the course record of 61 at Quail Hollow, shot in the third round of the 2015 Wells Fargo championship.
Betting Tips
Hard to look past the star-studded line-up that is the United States here. They start as overwhelming $1.14 favourites, so hard to find a lot of value in the outright winner markets if you fancy the United States like we do. Instead we are going to look towards some of the prop markets here.
With no Cam Smtih, Im is clearly the form golfer of the International squad heading into this event. Along with the likes of Matsuyama, Scott and Conners, he is one of the few that is really capable of beating any one of the USA players on his day, and he should definitely be playing all seven sessions.
Sungjae Im Top International Scorer
$6.00
It's a bit harder to narrow down a winner on the United States side with so much star power in the team. I think there is good value about the No.7 player in the world Justin Thomas. Thomas and his running make Jordan Spieth love representing their country and generally take it to another level when they get the opportunity to play together.
Justin Thomas Top USA Scorer
$8.00
While the United States certainly have more star power, I think a 6.5 point line in favour of them here is a little insulting to this International side, the majority of which is made up of players who took the USA down to the wire in the Presidents Cup just a few years ago in Melbourne. The USA were massive favourites to win that event as well and just squeaked out a 16-14 win. Back the International side at the line in what should be a closer match than people expect.
International Team +6.5 Points
