Melbourne United vs Tasmania JackJumpers Betting Tips
Saturday 8pm AEDT, John Cain Arena, Melbourne
Melbourne United and the Tasmania JackJumpers both enter Round 8 in desperate need of some positive results. They’re 8th and 6th on the ladder respectively, and both teams have five wins to their name, although United have played one extra.
Not only are these teams both glued on five wins, but they share identical form in their last six games (LLWLWW).
United would probably be the more concerned of the two teams considering they’ve lost six of their last nine, and a lot of them have been blowouts. They’ve already lost five games by double-figures this season, including their most recent game against the Phoenix in the Throwdown.
The JackJumpers have been more competitive in their losses, losing only twice by more than 10 points to date. They’ve been relatively solid since starting the season 0-3 and would be confident that their current level of play will result in wins more often than not.
Going on the road will also not phase the JackJumpers considering they’ve won three of their last four games on enemy territory. One of those wins came against United in Round 3, where they suffocated them on defence to restrict them to only 64 points.
In fact, wins against United have become common for the JackJumpers. Since losing their first ever battle against them, they’ve won five of their last six meetings and two of those wins came in the playoffs last season when they ended United’s season on their own floor.
Despite seemingly everything leaning towards a JackJumpers win on Saturday night, it is United who are currently favoured in the head-to-head market ($1.76 vs $2.05). I disagree with the bookies and will happily back the JackJumpers into as short as $1.75.
