Can they do it? Can the Celtics come back from 3-0 down in Eastern Conference Finals to head back to the NBA Finals for the second year in a row. They’ve managed to claw their way back to 3-2, with wins in Miami in game 4, and at home in game 5, but this will be their biggest test, as the series heads back to south beach.
2022-23 NBA Conference Finals Betting Tips: Game 6
Boston Celtics at Miami Heat
FTX Arena, 10:30am AEST, Sunday 28th May
The Heat shot the ball sensationally from deep in the opening 3 games of this series, but their 3-point shooting has taken a massive slide in the past two games. Shooting 17/55 (30.9%) from downtown in games 4 and 5, it’s easy to see the Heat are in desperate need of better shooting if they are to win Game 6 at home.
The Celtics have been constantly increasing the amount of 3 pointers they shoot throughout the series. It obviously hasn’t hurt that they have been shooting a far higher percentage in the past two games. Whether they can keep up the accuracy will go a long way to determine whether the Celtics can push this to a 7th and deciding game at home.
The real winner of the resurgence of the Celtics is the Nuggets. They will be extremely well rested when the NBA Finals kicks off, with over a week off between their last game in the Western Conference Finals and the start of the NBA Finals.
There aren’t too many injury concerns for either team, with 6th Man of the Year Malcolm Brogdan listed as questionable with a right forearm strain. If he misses, the Celtics are deep enough to cover, and I don’t believe it will affect the result either way.
The Celtics closed 8/8.5-point favourites in game 5, easily covering in a 110-97 win. The total for the game closed 214.5, before opening up at 213.5 for game 6. This number has been bet down quickly, and I wholeheartedly agree. I believe the total is the best place to attack this game, and I really like the under here. Would have been great to get on early, but I still see an edge in the under where it currently sits.
Hopefully, we get a Boston win for a massive Game 7 on Tuesday.
