NBA Betting Tips: Wednesday January 11th
Charlotte Hornets at Toronto Raptors
Scotiabank Arena, 11:30am AEDT
The Hornets will head to Toronto for the third game of their road trip after splitting the first two at 1-1. They’re unlucky not to be 2-0 on this trip after letting one slip late against the Pacers last start.
Having LaMelo Ball back on the court has undoubtedly helped the Hornets be competitive on a more consistent basis. He’s averaging career-highs in points (23.1) and assists (8.3) this season.
Likewise, the Raptors key man in Pascal Siakam is having a career-year, but it hasn’t resulted in as many wins as he and his team would’ve liked - the Raptors have lost 11 of their last 15 games.
Neither team have enjoyed much success this season and that makes this a difficult game to predict in terms of a winner. However, in what’s a 50-50 game in my opinion, getting a +7.5-point start for the Hornets is strong value.

Cleveland Cavaliers at Utah Jazz
Vivint Arena, 1pm AEDT
Returning to Vivint Arena after playing six of their last eight games on the road, the Jazz will be looking to turn their form around on Wednesday - they’ve secured only one win from that stretch.
The Jazz were the big surprise packer in the early part of the season, although the winning form they once had has certainly dried up. They now find themselves three games below 500 and are quickly descending in the standings.
In contrast, the Cavaliers are winners of four of their last five games and are only three games back from the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference.
The Cavs were too good for the Suns down the stretch in their recent road game, and winning away from home hasn’t necessarily been a strong suit this season (8-11).
On current form, the near full-strength Cavs should be winning easily against the Jazz despite being the visiting team. There’s also the extra motivation for Donovan Mitchell to play well against his old side, and we all know he loves a challenge.
Cleveland Cavaliers -3.5

Dallas Mavericks at Los Angeles Clippers
Crypto.com Arena, 2:30pm AEDT
The Clippers will be desperate to put in a good performance on Wednesday as they’re currently on a six-game slide. They’ve had an extremely tough schedule during that stretch and three of those losses were by six points or less.
Meanwhile, the Mavericks took advantage of a weak stretch in their schedule and went on a seven-game winning run. They had that streak broken last week against the Celtics however, and also lost last start against the rebuilding Thunder.
This will be the second meeting between these teams this season and if recent history is anything to go by, this should be a cracker, as each of their last five meetings have been decided by eight points or less.
It should be an intense battle to round out Wednesday’s action, but one that I think will go the way of the Clippers on this occasion. After a string of losses back-to-back, they’ll be keen to make amends and get back on the winners list, and will have every chance to do that on their home floor against the Mavs who have struggled on the road this season (7-12).
Los Angeles Clippers -2.5
