NBA Betting Tips: Wednesday 21st December
Golden State Warriors at New York Knicks
Madison Square Garden, 11:30am AEDT
The New York Knicks will be looking to make it eights wins on the spin when they host the Golden State Warriors at the Garden. The Knicks are currently priced as $1.49 favourites against the Warriors ($2.63) who will be without Steph Curry due to a shoulder injury.
The Knicks recently wrapped up a three-game road trip where they defeated the Bulls twice and the Pacers once, all of which are good wins on current form. They’ve now won six straight on the road and three in a row at home.
They won’t get a better opportunity to avenge their defeat against the Warriors at the Chase Center a couple of weeks ago. The Knicks are 7-7 on their home deck while the Warriors are 3-14 on the road, which is the worst road record in the entire NBA.
The Warriors struggled for road wins when their two-time MVP was on the court, and it’s fair to say they’ll find them even tougher to come by without him. The Knicks should be winning this game comfortably.

Washington Wizards at Phoenix Suns
Footprint Center, 1pm AEDT
The Washington Wizards continue their lengthy road trip when they make a stopover in Phoenix to take on the Suns. Due to contrasting form, the Suns will start as the overwhelming favourites to defend homecourt ($1.29 vs $3.66).
The Wizards were more than competitive through the first month or so of the season, but their form in recent weeks has been nothing short of atrocious. They come to Phoenix having lost 10 straight and 13 of their last 14 games.
In contrast, the Suns have won three in a row since snapping their five-game losing streak. They’re starting to get healthy with Chris Paul and Devin Booker both back in the mix, and that’s obviously been a recipe for a lot of success in the regular season over the past two years.
The Suns are back in their groove and won’t need to be at full strength to defeat the current version of the Wizards. This should be a walk in the park for a team of this calibre.

Memphis Grizzlies at Denver Nuggets
Ball Arena, 2pm AEDT
The final game of the day should be a ripper between the Grizzlies and the Nuggets in Denver. The visitors are priced as the slight favourites at the time of writing ($1.81 vs $2.04).
The Grizzlies road woes continued last start when they suffered a six-point defeat in Oklahoma. It was their fifth loss from their past seven road games, which is a complete contrast to their home form where they’ve won seven on the spin.
Meanwhile, the Nuggets overcame a determined Hornets team last time out in what was a monster performance from Nikola Jokic. He finished with 40 points, 27 rebounds and 10 assists, and became the second player in NBA history to record splits of at least 40/25/10, joining only Wilt Chamberlain.
It’s surprising to me that the Nuggets aren’t a lot shorter in the head-to-head market here. They’re 9-3 at home this season while the Grizzlies are 6-8 on the road. On top of that, the Nuggets have won seven of their last eight home games in this matchup. Those form lines alone make the Nuggets a great bet here.
