NBA Betting Tips: Thursday, 3rd November
Charlotte Hornets at Chicago Bulls
United Center, 11am AEDT
The Bulls will be on the second leg of a back-to-back when they welcome the Hornets to the United Center on Thursday morning.
Their first leg was on the road against the Nets whom they inflicted further pain to, defeating them 108-99 in their first game post-Nash.
Overall, it’s been a mixed bag for the Bulls so far this campaign, and they enter this slate with a 4-4 record, having gone 2-2 at home and 2-2 on the road.
Meanwhile, the Hornets are set to go back out on the road after a short two-game homestand where they defeated the Warriors and lost to the Kings.
It’s been tough for the Hornets to generate any consistency without their two leading scorers from a year ago in LaMelo Ball and Miles Bridges, but it’s something they’ll have to get used to.
The Bulls won the season series 2-1 against the Hornets last season and are well placed to go ahead of the ledger on Wednesday. They shouldn’t have too much trouble getting past this current version of the Hornets.
Chicago Bulls -5.5

Utah Jazz at Dallas Mavericks
American Airlines Center, 11:30am AEDT
The new-look Jazz will be hoping to continue their surprisingly hot start to the season when they travel to Dallas to take on Luka Doncic and co.
Many pundits expected the Jazz to be in all out tank mode this campaign after trading away Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert, but the truth is they still have 10 or so genuinely good players on their roster.
The Jazz enter this game off back-to-back wins at home against the Grizzlies, which improved their season record to 6-2.
The Mavericks have traded wins and losses through their first six games of the season and will be looking to secure back-to-back wins for the first time on Thursday.
Luka Doncic has been in amazing form with averages of 37/10/9 and is the equal favourite in the MVP market along with Bucks’ forward Giannis Antetokounmpo.
The Mavericks won the season series 3-1 against the Jazz last season, although the latter has an almost entirely new roster this time around. Still, I expect the Mavericks to be too strong on their home deck and expect them to cover the spread here.
Dallas Mavericks -5.5

Memphis Grizzlies at Portland Trail Blazers
Moda Center, 1pm AEDT
The Trail Blazers have flown out of the blocks with a 5-1 record but are expected to be without Damian Lillard once again when they welcome the Grizzlies to the Moda Center.
Most recently, the Trail Blazers bounced back from their first loss of the season with a 125-118 home victory over the young and athletic Rockets. Anfernee Simons and Jusuf Nurkic combined for 57 points in Lillard’s absence, and Shaedon Sharp stepped into the starting five.
The Grizzlies will be looking to bounce back from consecutive losses on the road against the Jazz and will have to do so on the road where they 2-3 this season, compared to a perfect 2-0 at home.
Ja Morant and Desmond Bane have both battled niggling injuries in the first couple of weeks, but both are expected to be available for Thursday’s game.
The Trail Blazers were bad without Lillard last season and were lucky to get over the line against a rebuilding Rockets team in their first game without him this season. I expect them to struggle against the Grizzlies who will be desperate to get back onto the winners list.
Memphis Grizzlies -3.5
