NBA Betting Tips: Thursday, 24th November
Minnesota Timberwolves at Indiana Pacers
Gainbridge Fieldhouse, 11am AEDT
One of the games I’m looking forward to most on this slate is between the Timberwolves and the Pacers. Both teams enter this game on 4+ game winning streaks, making for an intriguing affair at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
The Timberwolves have built their four-game win streak on the back of some much better defence. They’ve given up less than 110 points in each of their last three games, which is good going in today’s NBA. They still have a long way to go to reach their full potential however, as they enter this matchup with an ordinary 9-8 record.
The Pacers have been one of the sharp improvers this season and come into Thursday’s slate as one of the best form teams in the league. They’ve won nine of their last 11 games and have quickly leaped into third spot in the Eastern Conference.
This will be the first of two meetings between these teams in the regular season, and it’ll be the Pacers who have home court advantage on this occasion. They’ve won 6/9 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse this season and are seemingly getting better with every game. They should be the outright favourites to beat the untrustworthy Timberwolves in my opinion, making them great value at near even odds.

Dallas Mavericks at Boston Celtics
TD Garden, 11:30am AEDT
Luka Doncic and the Mavericks will be looking to improve on their dismal 1-4 road record when they travel to the TD Garden to take on the Celtics who have defended homecourt on all but one occasion this campaign (6-1).
The Mavericks will also be looking to bounce back from an embarrassing defeat against the Nuggets last start who were without both Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray. Likewise, the Celtics lost a game against the Bulls they certainly would’ve expected to win last time out, snapping a then league-best nine-game win streak in the process.
Being in opposite conferences, these teams only meet each other a couple of times per season. However, if recent results are anything to go by, then we’re in for a great contest. In fact, each of their last 10 meetings across five seasons have been decided by 11 points or less.
Recent history might suggest that this will be a close game, but I still have to give the clear edge to the Celtics on their home floor. The Mavericks have been inconsistent at the best of times this season and only have a 20% win rate on the road. That’s just not going to cut it more often than when you come up against one of the best and most consistent teams in the association.

Brooklyn Nets at Toronto Raptors
Scotiabank Arena, 11:30am AEDT
The Nets travelled to Philadelphia with the odds in their favour due to the 76ers being without Embiid, Maxey, and Harden, but they still couldn’t get over the line. That loss would be particularly disappointing for Ben Simmons who came up against his old team for the first time.
The Raptors continue to fly under the radar despite being over .500 at 9-8. They’ve done extremely well to stay competitive while consistently using different starting line-ups due to injuries. They enter this slate having lost a heartbreaker on the road against the Hawks last start, so they’ll be happy to be back on their home deck on Thursday.
The Nets got the better of the Raptors in their only meeting so far this season, which was in Brooklyn a couple of weeks ago. However, the Raptors are a different beast at home (6-1) compared to on the road (3-7), and they’ll certainly fancy their chances of avenging that defeat. On current form, i also expect them to get the job done.
