Another massive Saturday greets us this week, with an 11-game slate featuring almost all of the top teams in the league right now. With the season at the ¼ mark, we are starting to get a good indication of what each team is, as is the market, making these numbers sharp.
An unlucky day last Saturday, going 0-3 despite massive CLV in all 3 games. Time to get back to winning ways.
2022-23 NBA Betting Tips: Saturday 3rd December
Miami Heat at Boston Celtics
TD Garden, 11:30am AEDT
A quick home and home back-to-back for the Celtics here, as they take on the Heat for the second time in three days at home. The number is similar to the close on Thursday, with the total the same (despite the Thursday game sailing over the total), however the Celtics are slightly smaller favourites this time out, despite winning and covering on Thursday.
The Celtics offense is otherworldly this season, and despite the Heat being a solid defensive unit, they don’t appear to have the answer on how to shut this Celtics offense down like they did two years ago. With the number sitting at Celtics -8.5, a look back at all the Celtics games this season, there is only 2 occasions out of 10 where they haven’t won by more than 9 points. They are set up to score, and they are so much better than every team in the NBA right now, however the market appears to be scared to lift their number by too much. Until they stop covering these numbers, you’ve got to keep betting the Celtics at home.

New Orleans Pelicans at San Antonio Spurs
AT&T Center, 12:00pm AEDT
Not the sexiest game, but the fading of the Spurs is real right now. The Spurs are currently on a 9-game losing streak and have lost 14 of their past 15. They are the worst team in the league right now, and the Pelicans are good enough to get the job done here.
These two teams played less than 2 weeks ago at the AT&T Center, with the Pelicans jumping out to a 19-point lead by halftime and cruising home 129-110. Zion Williamson monstered the Spurs, scoring 32 points in 27 minutes, winning easily despite the loss prior to the game of CJ McCollum.
I make the Pelicans a 12-point favourite in this one and getting a number well under 10 makes this an auto bet for me.
New Orleans Pelicans (-6)

Houston Rockets at Phoenix Suns
Footprint Center, 1:00pm AEDT
This is a big number, but this is a brutal stretch for the Rockets, who are surely looking forward to a 7-game home stand that begins on the 12th of December. Until then, they will just try and tread water on this 4-game road stretch, where they have already played and lost to the Denver Nuggets twice, before this game against the Suns, followed by the Warriors on Sunday. Like I said, brutal.
The Suns have adapted to life without Chris Paul, after winning only 2 of their first 5 games without their star point guard. They are now riding a 5-game win streak, and I expect that to continue here against the lowly Rockets.
These teams met just over a month ago, with the Suns coming home strong in the 4th quarter to record a 124-109 victory. The spread is large, but this is more about the spot for the Rockets, who are surely looking ahead of this stretch of 4 games. A Smaller wager as the backdoor is always open, but I trust the Suns to continue their good form here and cover the spread.
