2021 Brownlow Medal Leaderboard

March 22nd 2021, 5:29pm, By: Brownlow Bandit

AFL Brownlow Medal

After a rollercoaster season last year, the AFL is back for 2021 with a more standard schedule, and with crowds back in attendance, we're pumped for another big season ahead.

Once again the BYB team are back bringing you our comprehensive 2021 Brownlow Medal coverage. Our Brownlow Medal vote predictions were on the money again last year as Lachie Neale was a runaway winner of football's highest individual honour. We'll again be providing round-by-round tracking for the 2021 AFL Brownlow Medal so you can use our analysis, vote predictions and our rolling Brownlow Medal leaderboard and tracker to assist with your Brownlow Medal betting throughout the season.

Can Lachie Neale go back-to-back in 2021? There's no reason why he can't as one of the leading players in the competition in a team that is once again among the premiership contenders. Perhaps the likes of Dustin MartinNat Fyfe or a recharged Tom Mitchell will be looking to ascend to the top again, or perhaps it's time for the new brigade of stars to emerge from the pack. Patrick Cripps should see more success for the Blues this season, Marcus Bontempelli loves a Brownlow vote or three, while Matt Rowell looks a born superstar if he can overcome his injuries. It looms as one of the most exciting Brownlow Medal chases in history.

Keep an eye on Before You Bet early in the week as we release our Brownlow vote predictions for the round just completed. You will notice, that our Brownlow vote predictions look a little different than the official voting system. This is because we give 6 votes per game, but our votes are split however we determine, with the idea being that over the long term these split votes even out and we are then given a 'range' of votes to work with for the current season.

There will be situations when the voting is clear-cut and the usual 3-2-1 is awarded, but when two players have both starred in a game and can't be split, 2.5 votes will be given per player. In games with multiple players fighting for the 1 or 2 votes, there will be 0.5 or 1.5 votes given with the same thinking that 'sometimes' those players will be awarded 1 vote, 2 votes or none.

For example: Patrick Cripps and Sam Walsh both have 30 disposals, kick a goal and generally have similar impact on the result of a game. It's too hard to read the umpires mind, but we can be certain that these two players will be claiming the 3 and 2 votes. To combat the fact we are sometimes going to get this wrong, both players receive 2.5 votes which gives them a range of 2-3 votes. At the end of the season players like this then have a minimum and maximum range and if everything goes well, should confidently finish somewhere in that range.

We hope this information will help you throughout the season to find value in betting markets with the best Australian sports betting sites, and end the season with plenty of profit!
