WFWC Final Betting Tips
USA vs Netherlands (Monday 1am AEST)
USA were all the rage pre-tournament and we had them as the most likely team to win in our futures article. The #1 ranked team in the world and reigning World Cup winners haven’t put a foot wrong and find themselves in the final yet again. On the other hand, Netherlands are a little bit of a surprise packet this World Cup and will go in with a ‘nothing to lose’ type of demeanour.
USA
It’s been another successful World Cup for the Americans so far as they reach the final for the third straight time. They were the champions in 2015 when Canada hosted the Cup and will go in as the favourites to go back-to-back on Monday morning.
USA absolutely dominated their group, defeating the likes of Thailand, Chile, and Sweden without conceding a single goal. They’ve found it a lot tougher during the knockout phase, winning each of their three matches by a 2-1 score-line.
It’s been a successful campaign in terms of results for the Americans, but the way they’ve gone about their winning ways has upset a lot of people. Superstar striker Alex Morgan has been in the spotlight for her ‘distasteful’ celebrations, most recently upsetting the English with her teacup celebration after scoring the go-ahead goal in the semi-finals.
Road to the Final

GS2 – defeated Chile 3-0
GS3 – defeated Sweden 2-0
R16 – defeated Spain 2-1
QF – defeated France 2-1
SF – defeated England 2-1
Netherlands
The Netherlands have always been a powerhouse in world football but not many expected their women’s side to make it all the way to the final at this year’s World Cup. Coming in as the #8 ranked nation, the Dutch have gone on an incredible run to give themselves a chance to become champions of the world.
They weren’t quite as dominant during their group phase as the Americans, but they still managed to win all three games. The Netherlands also stepped it up a gear in the knockout phase, defeating quality teams in Italy and Sweden without conceding a goal.
There hasn’t been quite the same amount of noise surrounding the Dutch as there has been for the Americans, but that’s not always a bad thing. They’ll have the underdog tag in the final, which is absolutely nothing new.

Prediction
We said this in our semi-final preview, and we’ll say it again – we liked USA to win the tournament before it commenced and have only grown more confident in our prediction. They come up against a Dutch team that they have a clear experience and talent edge over, which is always huge in Cup Finals. They come in as the clear favourite and rightly so, which leaves little to no meat on the bone in the head-to-head market. However, we see them winning this by 2+, which you can get some great odds for.
