AFLW Round 5 Betting Tips
Brisbane Lions vs Geelong Cats (Saturday 2 March - 4:45pm)
Round 5 begins in QLD with the Conference B top of the table clash. After two straight losses, Brisbane was back in form on the weekend as they thrashed the Bulldogs in Melbourne. The Cats won an ugly contest against the Blues by 5 points but the question mark is whether they can win away from Geelong. Adelaide smashed them by 29 points in their last Interstate trip and Brisbane will be a tough opponent after their win last week. The Cats scoring power will likely be an issue. They're ranked 9th in the league for inside 50s and face a strong test against the Brisbane defence. While up forward, the likes of Jess Wuetschner will be a handful for the Cats defenders. So in the end, I think Brisbane take the lead into half-time and go onto win.
Carlton Blues vs Collingwood Magpies (Saturday 2 March - 7:15pm)
Old rivals Carlton and Collingwood meet in AFLW Round 5 at Ikon Park. Collingwood's season is over but they would love nothing more than to hurt the Blues top 2 hopes. They sit just one win outside the top 2 at the moment and with the Cats playing the Lions, they could move back in with a victory. However, they're coming off a disappointing performance against the Cats as they kicked 1.8. As a result, they went down by 5 points. The Magpies showed good signs against the Giants despite a 9 point loss. So I think Collingwood can beat the line in this matchup. This will be like their Grand Final and they'll be going hard at Carlton.
GWS Giants vs Melbourne Demons (Sunday 3 March - 2:05pm)
Both the Demons and Giants sit 4th in their respective Conferences so this is a must-win clash for either side. The Giants are on the board in 2019 after a close win over the Magpies in Victoria. But looking at their last result at this venue (65-36 loss to Carlton), Melbourne will be a test. The Demons pushed the Roos all the way last week and came away with a tough 4 point defeat. In the history between these two sides, close margins have been on the agenda with both meetings finishing under 7 points. On form, you would say Melbourne have enough points in them and the fact that the Giants only just beat the winless Pies is concerning. Happy to let this one play out.

North Melbourne Kangaroos vs Adelaide Crows (Sunday 3 March - 4:05pm)
Round 5 is highlighted by the two top sides in AFLW as the 4-0 Kangaroos take on the 3-1 Crows. The Kangaroos kept their winning streak alive with a close victory over the Demons. Meanwhile, Adelaide made a statement with a huge 42 point win over the Dockers. The Crows are easily the best Inside 50 team in the competition and they also rank #1 for disposals. But the Kangaroos should be able to quell their influence as the rank #1 for points allowed this season. So in the end, with these two sides in great form, it looks like a close contest will play out. Which should see either team win this by 15.5 points.
Either team by under 15.5

Fremantle Dockers vs Western Bulldogs (Sunday 3 March - 6:05pm)
The Round concludes at Fremantle Oval as the Dockers host the Bulldogs. Both sides are coming off bad losses so the stakes will be high this Sunday. The problem at the moment for the Bulldogs is getting their hands on the footy. They're 9th in the league for disposals and that's really impacted their forward line. Where they've kicked just 12 total goals thus far. Despite the 42 point loss last week, Fremantle were totally outmatched and I think they'll get back to their scoring form on their home deck. They're the number #2 scoring team in the league and that should be the difference between these two sides. They've won both matches in Perth this season by an average of 30 points and should cover the 8.5 point line this Sunday.
