For those who need a refresher on how our Brownlow voting system works, we assign 6 votes per game so that our total votes are the same as the official 3-2-1 system, however we break up those votes as we see fit across potentially more than three players. Some games are really tough to call which way the votes will go, so a better predictive model is to split performances and assign half points to each player where there is doubt. So for example if two players dominate and it's too hard to split their performance, they are given 2.5 votes each, with the remaining 1 vote given to another player(s). This will give us a predictive total closer to their true total, rather than guessing. We can then form a 'range' for each player (i.e. a min and max we think players can poll) with the thinking behind this that the variations from the half votes will even out over the long term.

Orazio Fantasia – 0.5

Ollie Wines thrived in the conditions with 35 disposals and a goal, with Tom Rockliff (32 disposals) and Sam Gray (26 disposals, 8 marks, 2 goals) also very good. Andrew Gaff was again strong with 32 disposals and a goal, while Jack Petruccelle stood out with his electrifying pace as he kicked 5 goals from 18 disposals.
Ollie Wines – 3
Sam Gray – 2
Jack Petruccelle - 1
GWS 11.16.82 def by Fremantle 16.10.116
A huge win for Fremantle in Canberra against the Giants, with Nat Fyfe inspirational with 31 crucial disposals. Ed Langdon (32 disposals, 10 marks) and Michael Walters (25 disposals, 3 goals) also won plenty of the ball which fed the forward line of Matt Taberner (21 disposals, 13 marks, 3 goals) and Jesse Hogan (22 disposals, 14 marks, 3 goals). Stephen Coniglio was best for GWS with 37 disposals and a goal.
Nat Fyfe – 2.5
Michael Walters – 2.5

Melbourne 7.13.55 def by St.Kilda 15.5.95
The upsets continued as the Saints smashed the Dees at the MCG on Saturday. Jack Billings may poll votes in the first five games of the season as he racked up 28 disposals, 7 marks and 2 goals to be one of the best on ground. Dean Kent enjoyed playing against his own side with 20 disposals, 7 marks and 3 goals, while Tim Membrey kicked 4 goals from his 12 touches. Angus Brayshaw (27 disposals, 1 goal) and Clayton Oliver (31 disposals, 6 tackles) were best for Melbourne.
Jack Billings – 3
Dean Kent – 2
Tim Membrey – 0.5
Angus Brayshaw – 0.5
Betting Note: We have Jack Billings polling in all five matches so far, and equal on top of the 2019 Brownlow Medal leaderboard after Round 5. He’s currently still $41 at BetEasy and that seems generous with the votes he’s polled so far!
Richmond 13.11.89 def Sydney 10.7.67
The Tigers continue to rebound this season with back-to-back wins, this time against the Swans. Dion Prestia (32 disposals), Shane Edwards (28 disposals) and Jack Higgins (25 disposals) were the leading ball winners for the Tigers, but the biggest excitement was the return to form of superstar Dusty Martin (25 disposals, 3 goals). Six Sydney players topped 30 disposals with Jake Lloyd picking up plenty of cheapies in his 37 disposals and 9 marks as the leading ball winner.
Dusty Martin – 3
Dion Prestia – 2
Shane Edwards - 1
Western Bulldogs 7.15.57 def by Carlton 15.11.101
The Blues are on the board! A rare win for Carlton and the first time they cracked the ton in three years as they were too good for the disappointing Dogs. Harry McKay was unstoppable as he displayed his potential with 20 disposals, 11 marks and 4 goals in a commanding performance. Sam Petrevski-Seton had his best game with a career-high 35 disposals, 7 marks and a goal, Sam Walsh continued to impress with 26 disposals, 9 marks and a goal, while Patrick Cripps won the hard ball with 37 disposals, however only five of those were kicks.
Harry McKay – 3
Sam Petrevski-Seton – 2
Patrick Cripps - 1
Adelaide 18.11.119 def Gold Coast 6.10.46
The Crows celebrated Eddie Betts’ 300th game with a big win and the little champion cashed in with 6 goals from 14 disposals. The Crows dominated control of the ball as Rory Sloane had 32 disposals and 6 tackles, the Crouch brothers picked up 36 disposals each, and Brodie Smith was good with 27 disposals and 2 goals. Brayden Fiorini was best for the Suns with 30 disposals and a goal.
Brodie Smith – 2.5
Rory Sloane – 2.5
Eddie Betts – 1
Betting Note: How is Rory Sloane still $51 at Sportsbet? He’s a proven vote-getter in and under the umpire’s noses and he’s having one of his best seasons to date. Sure Adelaide aren’t winning too many games, but we have Sloane definitely polling in four of the first five rounds, and right with the current leaders, so $51 looks overs.
Hawthorn 13.12.90 def by Geelong 17.11.113
The Cats held off a late charge from the Hawks to record another victory on Easter Monday. The cream rose to the top with Joel Selwood (32 disposals), Tim Kelly (29 disposals, 2 goals) and Patrick Dangerfield (28 disposals, 2 goals) all winning plenty of the ball while the “Little Master” Gary Ablett back to his best with 23 disposals, 8 marks (including a classic Ablett mark in the goal square) and 3 excellent goals. Ricky Henderson stepped up in the middle with 33 disposals, 10 marks and 2 goals to be the Hawks best.
Joel Selwood – 3
Gary Ablett – 2
Ricky Henderson - 1
