The 2019-20 A-League season continues this weekend with Round 19. It’s been an interesting couple of weeks in Australia’s premier soccer league with upsets occurring left, right and centre, which has made for some pretty difficult weeks for betting plays. Nevertheless, we’ve got another round of opportunity ahead of us and we believe we have some winning tips on the way.

A-League Round 19 Betting Tips
Adelaide United vs Central Coast Mariners
Friday, 7:30pm AEDT
Adelaide United have finally turned their form around after struggling in the league for a number of weeks. They may have been 2-1 losers on the road against Roar last time out, however, the way they played was indicative of their three previous matches that all resulted in wins. The Reds recent winning run has seen them climb back into fifth spot on the ladder with 24 points.
The Mariners continue to disappoint in the A-League after showing glimpse of improvement a few weeks back. They were thoroughly outplayed in the bottom of the table clash against the Jets in Round 18 when they lost 4-3, which is a very flattering scoreline. The Mariners have now lost four in a row and have fallen down to last on the ladder.
This fixture features two clubs in complete contrasting form. Adelaide will be looking to bounce back from an unlucky loss last weekend and get the perfect opportunity to do just that. Getting them to win this match by 2+ goals looks like one of the best value plays of the weekend.

Wellington Phoenix vs Melbourne City
Saturday, 5pm AEDT
Wellington Phoenix were outplayed from start to finish in their Round 18 fixture against Perth, losing 4-2 on the road. It was the first time in a long time that they’ve looked very shaky in the back, conceding the same amount of goals in 90 minutes that they had in the previous 450. That loss was their second from their past three games, although they still remain in fourth spot on the table.
Melbourne City finally got the result they were after in a Derby, downing Melbourne Victory 2-1 last weekend. They were the thoroughly deserving winners of that fixture and have now levelled up the ledger against their crosstown rivals this season. City remain in second spot on the ladder and 10 points behind the league leaders in Sydney FC.
This looms as the matchup of the round and could possibly be a preview for a finals fixture later in the season. Both clubs are in pretty good form coming in and have been finding the net fairly regularly. For us, we’re keen to take the value of Phoenix to get the win at home. They’ve claimed 16 of a possible 18 points from their last six home fixtures, so anything over $2.50 is over the odds here.
Western Sydney Wanderers vs Newcastle Jets
Saturday, 7:30pm AEDT
The Wanderers match against Sydney last weekend was postponed due to poor pitch conditions, which means they’ve now played just once over the past three rounds. Their most recent match resulted in a 3-1 win away against the Mariners, which snapped a three game losing streak. The Wanderers come into this round sitting in eighth spot on the table and five points outside the top six.
The Jets were finally able to snap their winless run last weekend when they banged in four goals against the Mariners. They had been extremely unlucky to come away without a result in their last previous couple of fixtures and now might start to put together a winning run and push towards the top six.
We’ve been very impressed with how the Jets have played recently, particularly the last three weeks where they’ve amassed 28, 27 and 22 shots at goal, which are some of the biggest numbers recorded by any team this season. They’ve been controlling the midfield with ease during that stretch and if they bring similar form into this fixture, then they should be able to claim maximum points against the Wanderers.
