A-League Round 15 Betting Tips
Adelaide United vs Melbourne Victory
Friday, 7:30pm AEDT
Adelaide United’s poor form has continued in the new year and they’ve now lost four consecutive league matches as a result. Last weekend it was Perth Glory who made light work of the Reds, defeating them 3-0 in Perth. Thankfully for Adelaide there are a bunch of other teams going through similar struggles, so their finals hopes are still well and truly alive.
Melbourne Victory are another team going through some tough times and have recently separated from manager Marco Kurz in favour of Carlos Salvachua. The change in management came after Victory’s devastating 3-2 loss against the Mariners last weekend, which means they’ve now won just four of their 13 matches this season.
Neither team is in form at the moment, but Victory have been slightly better than the Reds of late. That said, it’s interesting to see the Reds start as near odd-on favourites considering they’ve lost four on the spin. For us, we’d much rather side with the underdogs in Melbourne Victory whom may find an extra gear under the impression of a new manager that has excellent credentials.

Melbourne City vs Newcastle Jets
Saturday, 7:30pm AEDT
Melbourne City had to settle for a share of the points last time out against Brisbane Roar in an exciting 2-2 affair. Jamie Maclaren failed to hit the scoreboard for the third time in four games and may finally be cooling off after his incredible start to the season. As a whole, City have enjoyed a fairly successful campaign to date and come into this in second spot on the ladder.
The Jets are on yet another horrible run in the A-League and matters were only made worse last time out when they were defeated 2-1 by the defending champs. It was a better performance from the Jets, but they still got nothing out of it and have now claimed just one point from their past six league fixtures, which has them glued to the bottom of the ladder.
These teams met four weeks ago in Newcastle and it was Melbourne City who were the far better team, running out 4-0 winners on the road. Now back on their home deck at AAMI Park, it’s hard to see how the result will be any different. We have City winning this by multiple goals.

Western Sydney Wanderers vs Perth Glory
Sunday, 6:30pm AEDT
The Wanderers suffered another loss last weekend in their match against the Phoenix. They were second best for much of the day and have now lost seven of their last nine league fixtures. This has all come after they started the season with three wins on the spin, which has left everyone a bit confused to what exactly has happened to them.
Perth Glory have had the opposite of seasons to the Wanderers. They started off very slowly but have since come on really strong and enter this fixture on a league best five game winning streak. Last weekend they dispatched Adelaide United with ease, which saw them jump into third spot on the ladder with a chance to climb even further this weekend.
These clubs are in complete contrasting form, which makes this a very easy bet in our opinion. Perth Glory are the form team of the competition and the Wanderers are simply one of the worst. Getting anything around even money for Glory to win seems like terrific value here.
