Italian Serie A Week 1
Parma vs Juventus (Sunday 2am AEST)
The last major soccer league to get underway this year is the Italian Serie A. The opening fixture will see last season’s champions in Juventus travel to Italy's Emilia-Romagna regionto take on Parma. The hosts had a successful season back in Italy’s top flight, avoiding relegation to finish in 14th position. The key to their mid-table finish was former Arsenal striker finishing with 11 goals from 30 matches.
All eyes will be on Juventus in their season-opener. Led by one of the greatest of all time in Cristiano Ronaldo, Juventus will be looking to get their campaign off to a winning start. Ronaldo finished last season with 21 goals and will be hoping to improve that tally in his second year with the club.
The reigning champions of Italy get a soft match-up first up and should be far too good on Sunday morning. We’re happy to back them in to win by 2+ against a vastly inferior opposition in Parma.

German Bundesliga Week 2
Schalke 04 vs Bayern Munich (Sunday 2:30am AEST)
Schalke got their 2019-20 campaign underway last weekend with a 0-0 away draw against Monchengladbach. It was a positive result for the visitors considering all the major stats were against them, including the shots where they trailed 16-8. Schalke now return to Veltins-Arena for the first time this season and will be looking to find some much better form.
Bayern Munich let us down last week when they drew 2-2 at home against Hertha Berlin. They were the heavy favourites to get their season underway with a win but were only able to grab one point despite having 71% of the possession and leading the shot count 17-6. On a positive note, Robert Lewandowski got his campaign underway with a brace.
Although Bayern Munich let us down last week, we believe they’ll bounce back with a big win this weekend. Schalke 04 were one of the poorest finishing teams last season and were lucky to grab a point in their opening fixture this campaign. We have the defending champions winning this one to nil.

Spanish La Liga Week 2
Leganes vs Atletico Madrid (Monday 3am AEST)
Leganes fans had a much less stressful time watching their team in the La Liga last year compared to previous years. They finished in 13th spot and were safe for the drop zone for the majority of the season, which has rarely been the case in previous campaigns. Leganes will be looking to improve again this season, although they got off to a disappointing start with a 1-0 loss to Osasuna in their season opener.
Atletico Madrid were the only other team besides Barcelona that were genuinely in the title race last season. They eventually finished second, 11 points behind Barca. Atletico got their new campaign off to a positive start with a 1-0 win over Getafe at home. Ex-Chelsea man Alvaro Morata was the hero with his 23rd minute strike.
Atletico Madrid are the far superior team of the two and we expect them to get the chocolates on Monday morning. We’ll be taking them to win straight up, but if you’re looking for a bit more value, then the win to nil market also appeals.

French Ligue 1 Week 3
Montpellier vs Lyon (Wednesday 3am AEST)
Montpellier have been one of the big improvers over the past two seasons and managed to finish last campaign in sixth position in Ligue 1. However, they’ve managed just one point from their two games so far this year and have the tough task of hosting the league-leaders in Lyon early next week.
Lyon finished last season behind PSG and Lille to come third in Ligue 1 for the second straight year. They’re looking to go one (or even two) better this year, such has been their explosive start. Nine goals for and zero against through their first two fixtures sees them lead all comers.
These two sides have been in compete contrasting form to open the season and we don’t see why that’s going to change this week. Anything around $2 seems like great value for Lyon here.
