A-League Match Day 25 Betting Tips
Brisbane Roar vs Wellington Phoenix (Friday 8:50pm AEST)
First up for the round we’ve got the lowly Brisbane Roar hosting the in-form Wellington Phoenix at Suncorp Stadium. This will be the third and final meeting between these teams this season in a three-game series Phoenix took the lead in with their 4-1 drubbing of Roar last time they met.
Not to sound like a broke record but Brisbane Roar’s season continues to go from bad to worse. They’ve now suffered four straight defeats since their 5-3 win over the Mariners and won’t find it any easier when they host Phoenix on Friday night.
Wellington Phoenix continue to prove the haters wrong with impressive performances becoming a regular occurrence. They may have lost last time out against Adelaide United on the road, but that’s always one of the more challenging fixtures in the A-League. Prior to that they had three straight wins, which helped propel them to fourth spot on the league table.
This is a really straight forward bet for us. Phoenix still have everything to play for, while Roar are counting down the days until the off-season. At near $2 odds, we’re more than happy to recommend a play on the away team.
Western Sydney Wanderers vs Sydney FC (Saturday 8:50pm AEST)
The second game of the week that we’re keen to take on is the derby between Western Sydney Wanderers and Sydney FC. The Sky Blues have had the wood over their cross-town rivals in recent times, defeating them in each of their last four meetings.
The Wanderers fate has been sealed for a while now in what has been a very disappointing season for their club. They’re coming off a 3-2 loss away to the Jets last weekend and won’t find it any easier against Sydney FC here.
The Sky Blues have bounced back wonderfully from their shock 2-0 loss at home to Melbourne City a couple of weeks back. Since then they defeated Roar 3-1 on the road before defeating rivals Melbourne Victory last weekend. As it stands, they’re currently in second spot on the table and can just about secure a double chance with a win this weekend.
Sydney FC still have everything to play for, while the Wanderers have only their pride on the line here. All things considered; we expect the Sky Blues to get maximum points in the derby.
Perth Glory vs Newcastle Jets (Sunday 8pm AEST)
The third and final game we’re making a play on is the fixture that sees Perth Glory host the Newcastle Jets at NIB Stadium. Perth will be looking to make it a clean sweep over the Jets this season after beating them 2-0 in both matches so far.
Perth Glory were brilliant yet again last weekend as they dispatched the listless Mariners by three goals to nil. It was a great response from the best team in the league, proving they can deal with adversity in great fashion.
Meanwhile, the Jets are hanging onto finals hopes by a thread with just three games remaining. They need a heap of results to go their way, but first and foremost must get the win in Perth on Sunday.
Perth Glory are the far better team here and will get the maximum points. We expect them to win comfortably and solidify their spot atop of the A-League table.
