2018-19 FA Cup Final Betting Tips
Manchester City vs Watford (Sunday 2am AEST)
Interesting Cup Final we’ve got on our hands here with Manchester City looking for their fifth FA Cup title, while Watford are looking for the first in their club’s history. Always the last fixture in England for the season, this FA Cup tie will kick off at 2am (AEST) at a packed house at Wembley Stadium in England.
Manchester City
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’re aware that Manchester City have just been crowned champions of the English Premier League for the second year in a row. They’ve been the best team in England for the best part of two years, although they had very worthy challengers in Liverpool who pushed them all the way.
Something you may not be aware of however, is that City have a chance to become the first team in history to win the domestic treble in England. Having already won the League Cup and the EPL, the equation couldn’t get any simpler for Pep Guardiola’s men – win the FA Cup and write your name in history.
Road to the Final:
R3 def. Rotherham 7-0
R4 def. Burnley 5-0
R5 def. Newport County 4-1
QF def. Swansea City 3-2
SF def. B&H Albion 1-0
Watford
The Hornets may not have had quite the same amount of league success as their opponents here, but they still put together a more than respectable 2018-19 campaign by their standards. Many expected them to be a mid-table side this season and that’s exactly what transpired. They finished in 11thspot and were never in any danger of relegation.
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Watford have made a run to the FA Cup Final. They were actually runners up back in 1984, losing to Everton 2-0 in front of 100,000 fans at Wembley Stadium. There were very much the underdogs back in those days and will enter in similar fashion again on Sunday morning.
Road to the Final:
R3 def. Woking 2-0
R4 def. Newcastle 2-0
R5 def. QPR 1-0
QF def. Crystal Palace 2-1
SF def. Wolverhampton 3-2
Prediction
It’s been a terrific effort by Watford to make it all the way to the final for just the second time in club history. However, they unfortunately come up against arguably the strongest team in world football at the moment who are brimming with confidence after their Premier League triumph. All things considered, it would take a mighty effort for the Hornets to get within two goals of the Champs here.
