EPL Match Day 33 Betting Tips
Southampton vs Liverpool (Saturday 6am AEDT)
First up for the weekend we take a look at the Southampton vs Liverpool fixture on Saturday morning (AEDT). The Saints will be looking for revenge at home here after the Reds got the better of them in their earlier match this season by three goals to nil.
Southampton are coming off a clutch 1-0 win away at Brighton in their most recent Premier League clash. It was their third win from their last four games which is easily their best four game stretch for the season. They may be in good touch, but they’re still far from safe in what is a very tight battle to avoid relegation this season.
Liverpool were also clutch in their most recent game, defeating the Spurs 2-1 at home thanks to a freak own goal in stoppage time. It was their third win on the spin in what has been a terrific season, but they still find themselves chasing defending champions Manchester City at the top of the table.
This is a huge game for both clubs, there’s no doubting that. However, the Reds possess quality that is far superior to their opponents here and we expect them to be too good for them, just like they were at Anfield earlier this season. Over $2 for a two plus goal win seems value here.
Huddersfield Town vs Leicester City (Sunday 1am AEDT)
Second up on the weekend we preview the Huddersfield Town vs Leicester City fixture. The Foxes won their first clash with the Terriers this season by a score line of 3-1.
Huddersfield Town sealed their fate last time out when they lost to on the road to Crystal Palace. It was their fourth consecutive defeat in the Premier League and unfortunately will have them sent back to the Championship next season. They’ve managed just three wins from 32 fixtures this season, which simply won’t cut it at this level.
In contrast to the Terriers, the Foxes are finding some of their best form as we approach the final stages of the season. They won last time out against Bournemouth by two goals to nil, which was their fourth win from their last five games. As it stands, they’re currently in ninth position on the league table.
Pretty straight forward pick here. The Terriers are officially going down, while the Foxes are in the best form they’ve been in all season. We have them grabbing maximum points in this one.
Newcastle United vs Crystal Palace (Sunday 1am AEDT)
The third and final game we’re prepared to recommend a play on is Newcastle United vs Crystal Palace. These teams played out a nil all draw in their earlier meeting this season at Selhurst Park.
Newcastle have had a decent return to England’s top flight as they currently sit in 14thspot on the table. They’re still a couple of points away from being safe from the drop, but if they continue on from their solid recent form, they’ll be more than OK.
Meanwhile, Palace find themselves one spot above Newcastle in 13thon the table. They too have had a decent season and can just about consolidate their spot in the top flight for next season with a win on Sunday morning.
The Bookies have this one as a near coin toss, but we beg to differ. Newcastle have been producing some great results of late and have a much better squad than a lot of people realise. We see near $2.50 odds as overs for a pretty handy home outfit.
