We hit on all three of our Match Day 27 tips last weekend, continuing what has been a really profitable 2018-19 English Premier League season thus far. We kicked things off with Watford defeating Cardiff, before hitting on West Ham beating Fulham, and finishing with Newcastle topping Huddersfield. There weren’t too many nervous times either, with all three teams winning by 2+ goals. We’ve now hit on a remarkable six straight EPL tips, with average odds of $2.06. We now turn our focus to an important weekend and provide our EPL previews and betting tips for Match Day 29.
EPL Match Day 29 Betting Tips
Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal (Saturday 11:30pm AEDT)
We kick off our Match Day 29 betting tips with a play on the first game of the round, which is the North London derby between Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal at Wembley Stadium on Saturday night. The Gunners won the earlier season meeting between these two teams by a score of 4-2 on their home deck.
Tottenham kissed their title chances goodbye mid-week with a 2-0 away loss to the out-of-form Chelsea. It was the second consecutive loss for the Spurs, which has effectively ended all hope of lifting the trophy. They remain in third position on the ladder and need to return to form sooner rather than later to avoid slipping.
On the other hand, Arsenal have hit their straps and are putting pressure on the surrounding members of the ‘Big Six’ on the ladder. They’ve climbed into fourth spot and have a chance to move within one point of the Spurs if they can get the win here.
North London derby’s are always entertaining and usually provide plenty of goals. The Gunners come into this at really long odds when you consider their solid form, which we feel inclined to make a play on. Getting near $2 at TAB for them to win or draw is too good to turn down.
Manchester United vs Southampton (Sunday 2am AEDT)
Second up for our plays of the week comes from the fixture that sees Manchester United host Southampton at Old Trafford on Sunday morning. The first meeting between these teams finished level pegging, tied at 2-2 at St. Mary’s.
Manchester United extended their unbeaten run in the EPL to 11 games under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with a 3-1 win over Crystal Palace mid-week. It’s been a terrific turn in form for the Red Devils this season, who have now moved into fifth spot and just one point behind the Gunners ins fourth.
Southampton, on the other hand, snapped a four match winless streak in their mid-week clash with Fulham. It was an important three points they picked up at St. Mary’s, but we aren’t reading too much into it as their opponents had been in horrible form. As it stands, the Saints are just two points clear of the drop zone with 10 fixtures remaining.
Surprisingly, United still have a little meat on the bone in terms of their head-to-head odds here. However, we’re confident they will win this by at least two goas, meaning we’ll take the extra value on offer at the -1.5 handicap.

West Ham United vs Newcastle United (Sunday 4:30am AEDT)
Our third and final play of the week comes from the fixture that has West Ham United hosting Newcastle United at London Stadium on Sunday morning. The Hammers embarrassed the Magpies in their earlier meeting this season, defeating them 3-0 on their at St. James’ Park.
West Ham come into this off a 1-0 away loss to Manchester City mid-week. It was a far from embarrassing performance for the Hammers, who have proven hard to beat against the top sides this season. They’re currently in 10th spot on the table and have a chance to improve their position with a win here.
Meanwhile, Newcastle enter this game coming off a 2-0 home win against Burnley in their mid-week clash. It was the second win on the spin and the fourth in six games for the Magpies, which has lifted them well out of the drop zone. They’re currently six points clear of 18th and can almost secure their spot in the top flight with a good result here.
The Magpies have been in winning form of late, but they’ve had a fairly soft draw in that same stretch. We expect the Hammers to be too good for them at home and are happy to take the $2+ odds on offer.
