EPL Week 18 Betting Tips
Wolverhampton vs Liverpool (Saturday 7am AEDT)
The Wolves have found some serious form over the past couple of weeks, winning each of their past three games in the league. Last weekend it was Bournemouth who were their victims, as the Wolves put together are terrific performance to win 2-0 at home. They’re now into seventh position on the table and are only one point behind Manchester United in sixth.
Liverpool continue to put in winning performances and have won each of their last six games in the league. They’re still undefeated after 17 games and are on top of the ladder, but are only one point ahead of Manchester City in second. The Reds face yet another big test to stay undefeated this weekend when they travel to the Wolves, who have been exceptional against the ‘Big Six’ this season.
Liverpool go into this as red-hot favourites and rightly so, but this is a serious danger game for them there’s no doubt about that. Against the other five teams in the Big Six this season the Wolves have come away with one win, three draws and one loss. Also, in four of those five games they’ve kept the opposition to just one goal. We fully expect the Wolves to keep this one close and prove very hard to beat at home. We were tempted to take them with the double chance, but have opted to go under the total goals instead.
Chelsea vs Leicester (Sunday 2am AEDT)
Chelsea have notched back-to-back wins against Manchester City and Brighton and Hove to get their season back on track. It was looking shaky after a couple of losses in consecutive weeks, but they’re now three points clear of Arsenal again and are sitting in fourth spot on the table. They return home this week as well, where they are 6-3-0, which is also the fourth best record in the league.
On the other hand, Leicester have lost back-to-back games and are winless in their last three in the Premier League. They had a bright start to the season, but now find themselves flirting with form in 12th position on the table. They will need to get back to winnings ways and fast if they’re to challenge for a Europa League spot this season.
Unfortunately for Leicester, we have the Blues being far too strong at home in this one. They’re short odds to win this, but they could easily be a lot shorter in our opinion. Taking them with a one goal handicap looks like tremendous value to us.
Newcastle vs Fulham (Sunday 2am AEDT)
Newcastle haven’t had the greatest of seasons so far, but at least they find themselves around the mid table mark, rather than the relegation zone like many predicted. After 17 games they have a 4-4-9 record, which places them in 14th position and four points above the dreaded drop zone. Meanwhile, their opponents in Fulham have found life really difficult in the top flight of English football this season. As it stands, they’re bottom of the table with just two wins to their name. The good news for them is there’s still a long way to go in the season and it only takes a couple of good performances to propel yourself from the drop zone.
This is not the most exciting game this weekend, but we feel it may very well represent the most value. Home ground advantage is always significant in the top flight, but that’s especially true for the bottom sides. Newcastle have a terrific supporter base and will be desperate to claim all three points against Fulham here. At $2, we like what we see.
