UEFA Champions League Semi Final (Leg 1) Betting Tips
Tottenham Hotspur vs Ajax (Wednesday 5am AEST)
First up for the Champions League semi-finals we’ve got Tottenham Hostpur hosting Ajax at the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in England. The Spurs will be looking for a positive result in the first leg to head over to the Netherlands with something to protect, although Ajax have been giant killers this campaign.
Tottenham put an end to Manchester City’s hopes of the famous treble this season as they knocked them out 4-4 via the away goals rule in the quarterfinals, despite an injury to star striker Harry Kane who will miss this tie. The Spurs continue to prove themselves as one of Europe’s top clubs despite having far less cash to spend than a lot of their rivals.
As mentioned above, Ajax have had a dream run in the UCL this season with a number of big scalps to earn their place in the semi’s. They’ve knocked out Real Madrid and Juventus in the Round of 16 and quarterfinals respectively and will bring a lot of confidence on their ventures to England on Wednesday morning.
The result is a tricky one to predict here with the varying form of both clubs, however we believe we’ve found a trend worth attacking. Both the Spurs and Ajax have scored at least once in each of their 10 UCL games this campaign and the BTTS market has saluted on 13 of their 20 fixtures combined, leading us to believe the BTTS market represents the best value here.

Barcelona vs Liverpool (Thursday 5am AEST)
Second up for the first leg of the semi-finals we head over the Nou Camp in Spain where La Liga giants Barcelona will host EPL contenders Liverpool. What a tie we’ve got here between two of the biggest teams in world football at the moment.
Barcelona have wrapped up the La Liga with a couple of games to spare, which will be a record 10 league titles for Lionel Messi. Their tremendous league form has also translated well to the UCL, where they’ve gone undefeated in their 10 matches so far, winning seven of them. Barca have cruised through both knockout ties en route to the semi’s, defeating both Lyon and Manchester United by four goals each.
Liverpool are in the midst of a title push in the Premier league in what has been a thrilling race, but they’ve still managed to perform extremely well in the UCL to prove that last year’s runners up finish was no fluke. They defeated Bayern Munich by two goals in the Round of 16 before giving Porto the business in the quarterfinals (6-1 on aggregate).
Once again, we’ve got a tricky result to predict in the first leg of this tie, so we’ve gone with a play elsewhere that we’re comfortable with. Both Barcelona and Liverpool have elite defences that should prove hard to unlock, especially in the first leg of such a big tie. We like the Under 2.5 Goals market at the Nou Camp.
