AFL Daily Fantasy Team of the Week – Finals Week 2
Geelong vs Sydney (Friday 7.50pm) $40k guaranteed
The Friday night team is spearheaded by Josh Kennedy who had 109 points against the Bombers last weekend and hasn’t dropped under 100 in the last three weeks. The Sydney mid-price brigade of Jake Lloyd, Callum Mills, Isaac Heeney and Zak Jones make up the bulk of the team. We think it will be a good night for Sydney with the form they have shown over the last few months of footy and these fringe A-Graders usually score well when the Swans win. Callum Sinclair has entered that mid-priced realm now as well after a few great games of over 90 and looks to have the wood over Geelong ruck pair of Zac Smith and Mark Blicavs.
Daniel Menzel makes the side in his return to the Cats team. Scored 88 in his last game as he slotted two goals and laid four tackles. Displays good pressure inside forward 50 so should be good for another few tackles and always looks dangerous on the scoreboard. Zach Tuohy and Brandan Parfitt are the other two Cats in the side. Tuohy is a streaky player who needs handball receives to play well but is decent value at just over $11k and Parfitt is the rookie of the team at $7,100, hoping he can get to 70 or 80.
Greater Western Sydney vs West Coast (Saturday 7.50pm AEST) $40k guaranteed
Josh Kelly and Andrew Gaff headline the team after both had big games last weeks with 126 and 118 respectively. Fairly mixed team as we think it could bea pretty close game. Nick Haynes, Dylan Shiel, Jacob Hopper and Matt de Boer represent GWS. Haynes and de Boer are capable of big scores but are predominantly value picks. Haynes might not have a matchup against the tall Eagles forward line so could be playing that loose man role which we love. Shiel is an out and out gun who has had a couple of bad scores recently, dropping his price, is primed for a big one.
The West Coast ruck pair of Nathan Vardy and Drew Petrie are both in the side, looking to take advantage of the injury to Shane Mumford. Petrie was huge last weekend with 114 against the Power and should get more opportunity in the ruck this week. Vardy has been undersized all year but will match up well this week against Rory Lobb making his $10k price tag pretty juicy.
Jeremy McGovern rounds out the side. Had a monster last weekend playing on the rookie Todd Marshall and will likely get another pretty favourable matchup this weekend with Jeremy Cameron out of the side.
