Week 22 of the A-League continues this weekend after the first three games of the round were played last week. Just two games on the schedule this weekend, as Melbourne Victory and Sydney FC both play AFC Champions League games as well. We take a look at the two games on the A-League schedule this weekend and give our tips below.
A-League Week 22 Betting Tips
Western Sydney Wanderers vs Wellington Phoenix (Saturday 7.50pm AEDT)
The Wanderers actually played their Week 23 clash against Perth last weekend, meaning that they’ll get an extended break after this game to regroup in preparation for a possible finals campaign. They’ll be hell bent on getting a home victory here as they currently hold onto sixth spot on the table by just two points over the Brisbane Roar.
The Wellington Phoenix have had a season to forget in 2017-18. They currently sit last on the A-League table with just four wins from their 21 games but can draw level with the Central Coast mariners with a win here. Three of the Phoenix four wins on the season so far have some within their last ten games, however, a loss to the Mariners in their last fixture doesn’t inspire much confidence.
The Wanderers start as $1.80 favourites here which we think is great value for them. They haven’t had a win I their last three games but have been really competitive with draws to both Perth and Newcastle and a hard fought loss to ladder leaders Sydney. We expect them to earn the win over the struggling Phoenix here.

Perth Glory vs Central Coast Mariners (Saturday 10pm AEDT)
After looking odds on to make the finals once again in 2017-18, the Glory have fallen out of form over the last few months, winning just two of their last 10 games. They currently sit four points outside the top six, however, they are still one of the better home teams in the league with five wins through nine home games and will need to hold that advantage again on Saturday night if they aim to make a late finals run.
The Mariners had a win over Wellington in their last game, making it four wins from 21 games so far. While they have the same amount of wins as Wellington, their eight draws see them three points clear of of the wooden spoon.
Perth will really like their chances of making the top six here. They are four points behind but four of their final five games come at home where they have been great this season. It starts with a win over Central Coast on the weekend, which we think they should pick up comfortably.
