4-0 in last week’s betting tips and six of the last seven for a massive couple of weeks in the A-League! We’ll look to continue on this hot form as we take a look at Round 10 of the Hyundai A-League, kicking off Friday night.
A-League Week 10 Betting Tips
Melbourne Victory vs Adelaide United (Friday 7.50pm AEDT)
The Victory secured their second win of the season on the weekend, downing Wellington in New Zealand 3-2 to move into the top six on the table. Hopefully, for Victory fans, the win will steady the ship for Kevin Muscat’s men, who have struggled through the first few months of the season, losing players to injury, suspension and international duty on the regular.
Adelaide United were outplayed by Sydney FC in last week’s Friday night opener, going down to the top side in the country 1-0 at home. The loss saw them fall to fifth on the table, and now sit just one point ahead of the Victory with a 3-2-4 record. Hitting the scoreboard has been Adelaide’s biggest problem so far this season, netting only 10 goals so far, which is good for the second worst tally in the league.
The two teams have split their last three meetings, with one draw and one win apiece. The draw came back in Week 3 of this season but the Victory are a much improved side since then. Decent odds for the home side here given their sluggish start to the season and we see some real value in them here.
TIP: Melbourne Victory to win - $1.95 at Sportsbet
Western Sydney Wanderers vs Sydney FC (Saturday 7.50pm AEDT)
Great Saturday night marquee fixture here as the top of the table Sydney FC take on their struggling cross town rivals in the Wanderers. Western Sydney have scored just nine goals on the season so far, which is the lowest total in the league, and have continued their ways of last season by already racking up five draws through eight games.
The two sides bet back in Week 3 of this season, where they played out a 2-2 draw, one of the only blemishes on Sydney’s great record through nine games. The Sky Blues currently sit atop the table, five points clear with a 7-1-1 record. They have conceded just eight goals so far this season, which is by far the best mark in the league.
Western Sydney were the only side to beat Sydney FC in the A-League competition last season, and they haven’t been beaten by them in their last three contests. Its always a tight contest between the two rivals, but it’s hard to look past the Sky Blues form at the moment. We like them to win here at good odds.

Perth Glory vs Newcastle Jets (Saturday 10pm AEDT)
The Newcastle Jets had a great win over the Victory two weeks ago, but couldn’t follow it up against the other Melbourne team on the weekend, going down 2-1 at home to Melbourne City. They struggled going forward against the strong defence of Melbourne City, but are still the highest scoring team so far this season with 21 goals.
The injury to star striker Roy O’Donovan is a massive blow to the Jets, with the front man already having slotted seven goals this season. It’ll be a tough road game for them this Saturday night, as they take on the Glory who sit 7th on the table with a 3-1-5 record.
Regardless of how the Glory are playing, the road trip to Perth is always a tough one, but they’ll be without a key striker for the clash as well, with Adam Taggert ruled out with a hamstring injury. Tough game to call here, we’ll stay away from the result markets and look to goals instead. The last three clashes between the two teams have resulted in at least four goals and we like this one to be another high scoring affair.
TIP: Total goals OVER 2.5 - $1.60 at Ladbrokes
