Another midweek EPL round to sink our teeth into this Tuesday-Friday and after hitting on 3/4 bets in the last fixture of Premier League games, we’ll look to continue our profitable form as we take a look at some of the key games in Week 20 of the season below.
EPL Week 20 Betting Tips
Tottenham vs Southampton (Tuesday 11.30pm AEDT)
Interesting matchup here between Tottenham and Southampton to open the rounds proceedings on Tuesday night. Tottenham bounced back from a bit of a form slump over Christmas as they travelled to Burnley and secured a 3-0 win. Harry Kane took a moved to second on the golden boot tally as he slotted all three goals for the Spurs.
Southampton fought out a tough 1-1 draw with Huddersfield on the weekend and have now won just 1 game in their last 10. They have slid from the top eight and now sit 13th on the table, just three points clear of the relegation zone. The Saints are arguably one of the most out of form teams in the league at the moment and with Tottenham finding some form in a tough away fixture, they predictably start as hot favourites here.
Tottenham have won 25 of a possible 30 Premier League points against the Saints since their latter’s return to the top flight back in 2012. Harry Kane looks in scintillating form at the moment and while there’s not much value in a Tottenham win alone, a double with the English striker to score could be value here.
TIP: Kane to score and Tottenham to win - $2 at Sportsbet
Chelsea vs Brighton & Hove Albion (Wednesday 2am AEDT)
Chelsea couldn’t get the result they were after at Everton on the weekend, playing out a 0-0 draw in a game where they dominated both possession and shots. They’ll look to bounce back this weekend and cement their place inside the top three as they host Brighton on Wednesday morning.
Brighton surprised many at the start of the season with a few upset victories, however, they have won just two of their last ten games and are starting to settle into the half of the ladder where many had them at the start of the season. They did, however, have a great win over Watford on the weekend, but its unknown how much we can read into that given Watford’s poor form of late.
On both paper and form, Chelsea deserve to be the heavy favourites here. The Blues have lost just one of their last 10 matches and have never failed to claim maximum points against Brighton in league play. Brighton have struggled to find the back of the net all season, scoring just 15 goals, which is the lowest of any team outside of the relegation zone. Chelsea’s tight defence should make it hard for them to score here, back the Blues to win to nil.
TIP: Chelsea to win to nil - $1.67 at Ladbrokes
Newcastle vs Manchester City (Thursday 6.45am AEDT)
The Manchester City train rolled on on the weekend as they decimated Bournemouth to the tune of 4-0. Sergio Aguero got in on the action in this one, scoring two goals while Raheem Sterling continued his stellar season adding another goal. The Citizens have now scored a ridiculous 60 goals through their 19 matches so far and boast five players inside the top 20 in the golden boot tally.
On the contrary, Newcastle have really struggled to find avenues to goal, scoring just 19 goals in the same number of games. They’ll be at home for this contest but it’s easy to see why Man City have opened as $1.22 favourites here.
Man City are still undefeated on the season and with the Premier League title all but wrapped up through 19 games, their attention will now turn to becoming just the 2nd team in Premier League history to finish a season undefeated. They have been scoring for fun lately so a bet on them to net another three is value here.
TIP: Manchester City to score 3+ goals - $1.84 at CrownBet
