After a few terrible weeks in EPL betting, we finally bounced back last weekend, hitting on 3 out of 4 bets for a profitable round. We’ll look to carry on the momentum as we preview the key matchups in Week 11 of the EPL and offer our betting tips here.
EPL Week 11 Betting Tips
Stoke vs Leicester (11.30pm AEDT)
Stoke and Leicester get Week 11 of the EPL underway Saturday night at 11.30pm. Both teams secured great wins last weekend with the Foxes defeating Everton 2-0 at home and Stoke downing Watford 1-0.
Both teams have 3 wins on the board so far this season and are now starting to distance themselves from the relegation zone as we thought they would at the start of the season. Leicester have now won their last two games and look to be adapting to the new style under manager Claude Puel.
Both Stoke and Leicester like to play a strong counter attacking style of play and generally win their games by small margins. It’s likely that the first team to score will go into shutdown mode here so we like the under on total goals.
TIP: Total goals UNDER 2.5 – $1.83 at Sportsbet
Manchester City vs Arsenal (Monday 1.15am AEDT)
The first of a couple of monster matchups sees Manchester City host Arsenal Monday morning. Arsenal have won their last two games and now sit level on points with Chelsea in fourth place. A 5-2 win over Everton two weeks ago was backed up by a gutsy 2-1 win over Swansea on the weekend. The Gunners will likely be putting all their eggs into the Premier League basket this year in an attempt to get back into the Champions League so expect them to be up for every clash.
Manchester City may just be the best team in the world right now. They have won their last eight games in the Premier League and haven’t been defeated in any competition this season. They now have a 5-point lead on top of the EPL table with a ridiculous +29 goal difference.
As good as Arsenal have been over the last few weeks, it’s hard to look past the Citizens here. They have justifiably started as $1.45 favourites for the clash, but we are happy to take them at the handicap here.
TIP: Manchester City -1 - $2.10 at Ladbrokes
Chelsea vs Manchester United (Monday 3.30am AEDT)
The second blockbuster of the week sees Chelsea hosting Manchester United Monday morning. Chelsea bounced back from a few tough losses and have won their last two matches in the EPL, wins over Watford and Bournemouth. They have a tough week coming up with a midweek clash against Roma in the Champions League followed by the game against Man U.
Manchester United are 7-2-1 on the season so far and after suffering their only loss to Huddersfield last weekend, came back with a huge win over Tottenham in Week 10. The Red Devils were able to hold off a barrage of late attacks from the Spurs, highlighting their defensive prowess under Jose Mourinho.
Tough game to call here. Stamford Bridge hasn’t been the fortress is was last year with the Blues already losing two of their five games there this season. Manchester United have an easier matchup in the Champions League midweek game and have basically already qualified for the knockout stage so they should have a strong side in for the EPL clash. We think they are great value here as underdogs.
TIP: Manchester United (draw no bet) - $2.10 at CrownBet
Everton vs Watford (Monday 3.30am AEDT)
The value game of the round in our opinion is Everton talking on Watford at Goodison Park on Monday morning. After a great start to the season, the Hornets have lost their last two games to Chelsea and Stoke. They have, however, shown the ability to match it with the top teams in the league, securing wins over Arsenal and Southampton and drawing with Liverpool.
The Toffees haven’t won a game in their last 7 matches in all competitions, the latest of which a disappointing 2-0 loss to Leicester. They just cant find a way to score at the moment with just 5 goals in their last 6 games.
Even though they are away from home, the Hornets represent great value here. Everton are in some woeful form and also have a midweek clash against Lyon in the Europa League to deal with. At $1.72 for at least a draw Watford look the goods here.
TIP: Watford (double chance) - $1.72 at Ladbrokes
